To defeat Xenolord, craft its raid slab from four Xenolord Slab Fragments, bring Ice- and Dragon-type attackers, and treat the encounter as a timed army fight rather than a normal boss battle. You have 10 minutes, Xenolord cannot be captured with a Pal Sphere, and repeated knockouts are expected. Standard mode is demanding; Ultra requires replacement Pals, high-end player equipment, a large ammunition stock, immediate add control, and disciplined spacing against area attacks.

Xenolord at a glance
- Type: Dark/Dragon raid boss.
- Effective attackers: Ice and Dragon Pals.
- Summon item: Xenolord Slab, crafted with 4 Xenolord Slab Fragments.
- Time limit: 10 minutes.
- Capture: Pal Spheres do not work.
- Victory reward: An egg that hatches into Xenolord; Ultra also lists a Huge Dark Egg and endgame raid materials.
- Core hazards: Cosmic Meteor, Satellite Bit laser drones, Astral Ray, Omega Laser, Beam Slash, and summoned adds.
The practical plan is simple to state but difficult to execute: build a deep roster of Ice and Dragon Pals, keep the player character firing at weak points, remove adds as soon as they appear, and spread the army so one meteor or beam does not wipe out every active attacker.

What makes Xenolord different from a normal Palworld fight?
Xenolord is a raid encounter designed around a base-sized army and a strict defeat window. You are not expected to win with one highly trained Pal. The boss absorbs a large share of incoming damage, has far more health than ordinary enemies, and can remove several Pals at once with wide attacks. A successful run therefore depends on sustained damage over multiple rotations, not just the strength of your first four Pals.
Xenolord’s Dark/Dragon classification gives Ice and Dragon attackers the key offensive advantage. That does not make every Ice or Dragon Pal equally useful: a Pal must survive long enough to contribute, and a roster that can replace defeated members is more valuable than a fragile lineup with higher theoretical damage.

The encounter also has an important positioning rule. Keep Ice and Dragon waves separated around the raid base. Clumping makes it easier for Cosmic Meteor, Omega Laser, Astral Ray, or Beam Slash to hit the whole group. Very large Pals can overlap more attack effects, so compact survivors are often easier to keep alive than enormous models.
How to get the Xenolord Slab
Collect four fragments
The slab requires exactly 4 Xenolord Slab Fragments. Palworld Database’s 2026 listing identifies hard Volcano and hard Snow Pal Expeditions as guaranteed fragment sources. Other expedition and chest sources, including listed Sakurajima sources, are shown at approximately 33% odds. Palworld.tools also lists hard Volcano and Snow expedition chests among the fragment routes.

|---|---|---|
| Hard Volcano Pal Expedition | Guaranteed fragment | Run this expedition whenever available; it is one of the most reliable ways to complete a slab. |
| Hard Snow Pal Expedition | Guaranteed fragment | Use it alongside hard Volcano rather than relying on random chests. |
| Other expedition or chest sources | Approximately 33% per listed source | Useful as supplemental attempts when the guaranteed expeditions are unavailable. |
| Listed Sakurajima sources | Source identified, exact odds vary by listing | Check the in-game expedition or chest description before committing travel time. |
The approximately 33% figure is an advertised chance for the alternate sources, not a guarantee that one run produces one fragment. Plan around the two hard expeditions, then use chests and other expeditions to fill the final gap.
Craft and place the slab
- Obtain four Xenolord Slab Fragments.
- Open the crafting menu and select the Xenolord Slab recipe.
- Craft the slab and take it to the raid-summoning point at your prepared base.
- Confirm that your active roster, reserve Pals, food, healing items, weapons, and ammunition are ready before activating it. Starting the raid while still gathering supplies wastes the timed attempt.
Prepare the raid base and player loadout
Use an empty, wide base
Build the raid at an empty base with a wide footprint. Remove unrelated production, storage congestion, and unnecessary structures that can trap Pals or restrict movement. A broad fighting area gives your waves room to spread and makes it easier to pull the player character away from a meteor or beam line.
Bring endgame protection and sustained fire
PalMods recommends top-tier armor and a top-tier shield for the encounter. Equip a strong automatic or energy weapon so your personal damage remains active while Pals rotate. Keep a deep ammunition reserve, especially for Ultra; running out of ammunition turns a survivable final phase into an automatic timeout.
- Top-tier armor and shield.
- A reliable automatic or energy weapon.
- More ammunition than you expect to need for a single attempt.
- Attack food for the player character and the appropriate combat buffs available in your build.
- Healing items, used between dangerous attack patterns rather than while standing in an area effect.
Breed and level replacement attackers
Repeated knockouts are part of the expected strategy. Breed and level more attackers than you can field at one time so the base can continue producing damage when the first wave is defeated. A deep reserve is especially important for Ultra, where the boss’s armor and damage output make a one-wave clear unrealistic for most teams.

Include broad-area or meteor skills in the roster for summoned adds. Single-target damage is valuable against Xenolord, but ignoring adds allows them to occupy the base, interrupt attacks, and multiply the number of threats you must dodge.
Best Pals for Xenolord
The following five-Pal lineup is the encounter-specific recommendation listed by PalMods. It is a role-based composition, not an independently measured damage ranking. Frostallion and Bastigor provide the Ice core; Jetragon, Quivern, and Orserk supply Dragon pressure and reserves.
| Pal | Role | Why it belongs in the roster |
|---|---|---|
| Frostallion | Ice carry and primary pressure | Ice attacks exploit Xenolord’s Dragon half and give the roster its main offensive counter. |
| Bastigor | Bulky Ice anchor | Provides a tougher Ice presence that can hold the field while other Pals rotate. |
| Jetragon | Dragon pressure and moving-target coverage | Adds Dragon damage and can continue contributing while the fight shifts around the base. |
| Quivern | Accessible Dragon reserve | Expands the Dragon pool when a replacement is needed. |
| Orserk | Additional Dragon damage | Rounds out the recommended damage reserve with another Dragon attacker. |
How to adapt the lineup
The exact five names matter less than preserving the composition’s functions. If one recommended Pal is unavailable, replace it with another well-leveled Ice or Dragon attacker that can survive the raid’s area attacks. Prioritize compact bodies, reliable uptime, and enough total replacements to cover several knockouts. A mixed roster with no Ice or Dragon pressure will struggle against the boss’s absorption and armor.
Divide the roster into waves rather than deploying every best Pal at once. Keep a fresh group ready at the base so you can rotate immediately after a knockout. This also prevents one meteor from removing your entire damage plan.

Palworld Database’s 2026 guide gives the following encounter figures. They are version-specific guide data, not permanent game constants; another current database page reports different standard level and health values. Use the figures as a planning baseline and trust the values shown by your current game version if they differ.
| Measure | Standard guide figures | Ultra guide figures | What it means in practice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boss level | Level 65 | Level 80 | Ultra demands higher Pal levels, player protection, and reserve depth. |
| Health scaling | About 280× normal HP | About 420× normal HP | Damage must remain online for the entire 10-minute window. |
| Boss damage | About 5× normal damage | About 13× normal damage | Knockouts happen faster in Ultra; healing and replacements are not optional. |
| Damage mitigation | About two-thirds of incoming hits absorbed | Armor allows about 9% of damage through | Weak attacks and underleveled Pals contribute too little to justify a slot. |
| Army requirement | Several waves recommended | Replacement army expected | Breed and level reserves before spending a slab. |
| Player burden | Strong gear and active shooting | Strong gear, weak-point hits, explosives, and deep ammunition | The player must add damage instead of only issuing Pal commands. |
| Reward tier | Xenolord egg on victory | Huge Dark Egg plus endgame raid materials are listed | Ultra has the higher payoff but also the higher resource cost. |
The mitigation figures explain why Ultra can feel dramatically harder even when your Pals have gained levels. If only approximately 9% of damage gets through the listed armor, each attacker needs meaningful base stats, useful skills, and enough time on the field to justify its place.

Xenolord’s attacks and how to respond
Cosmic Meteor
Spread the army before meteors land. Do not stack every Pal around Xenolord’s front or a single impact can remove an entire wave. If a meteor marker appears near the active group, move the player and let the Pals finish their current attack from separated positions.
Satellite Bit laser drones
Laser drones add persistent ranged pressure and can punish a stationary player. Keep moving between weak-point shots, and do not stop watching the base simply because Xenolord is currently occupied. A drone pattern is a good moment to rotate a damaged Pal before it is finished by another attack.
Astral Ray
Treat Astral Ray as a line or area threat. Maintain spacing and avoid standing where the beam crosses the bulk of your army. Pull the player clear first; then redirect the next wave into an open angle rather than sending it through the same danger zone.
Omega Laser
Omega Laser is another reason to fight on a wide, uncluttered base. Keep enough room to sidestep, and do not place all reserve Pals in one tight deployment point. The objective is to preserve several independent damage groups.
Beam Slash
Watch Xenolord’s orientation and keep the player from standing directly in the attack’s path. If a frontline Pal is caught, recall or rotate it rather than allowing the whole group to follow into the same slash zone.

Clear adds immediately. Use broad-area or meteor skills to remove groups, then return player fire to Xenolord’s weak point. Leaving adds alive increases incoming damage and can block the movement lanes needed to dodge the boss’s larger attacks.

Step-by-step battle plan
- Activate with a full first wave. Deploy your strongest Ice and Dragon attackers, but keep a second wave at the base instead of committing every Pal immediately.
- Spread the formation. Place attackers around the wide base so meteors and beams cannot hit all of them at once. Keep the Ice and Dragon groups separated enough to preserve independent damage.
- Start player damage at once. Use your automatic or energy weapon on weak points. Explosive hits are especially useful when the boss is exposed; do not wait for Pals to carry the entire damage requirement.
- Identify and remove adds. Switch to broad-area attacks when adds spawn. Finish the adds quickly, then resume weak-point fire on Xenolord.
- Move for every area warning. Cosmic Meteor, Astral Ray, Omega Laser, and Beam Slash punish stationary clusters. Move the player first, then redirect or rotate Pals out of the danger zone.
- Rotate before total collapse. Recall a Pal that is nearly defeated and send in a reserve while the damaged Pal recovers. Waiting until the entire wave is down creates a damage gap that the 10-minute timer may not forgive.
- Keep ammunition and healing under control. Reload and heal during a safe movement window, not in the center of an active beam. Ultra attempts should begin with enough ammunition for the whole fight, not merely the opening phase.
- Maintain pressure through the final phase. Do not save reserves indefinitely. The boss’s armor means every second without an active attacker matters, so cycle the army continuously until Xenolord falls.
How to approach Xenolord Ultra
Enter only with a replacement army
Ultra’s approximately 420× health, 13× damage, and listed armor that lets only about 9% of damage through make attrition unavoidable for many teams. Bring enough Ice and Dragon Pals to replace multiple defeated waves. If your plan depends on the first five surviving for 10 minutes, it is not an Ultra plan.
Increase player contribution
Ultra places a heavier burden on the player character. Use top-tier armor and shield, a strong automatic or energy weapon, attack food, healing, and a deep ammunition reserve. Keep landing weak-point and explosive hits while Pals work; passive observation is likely to produce a timeout.
Control the base as carefully as the boss
Clear adds before they accumulate, preserve open movement lanes, and avoid deploying every reserve into the same corner. Compact survivors are preferable when possible because very large Pals can overlap more of Xenolord’s area attacks. If one wave is trapped, recall it and deploy the next wave from a different side of the base.

Use the timer as a performance test
When an Ultra attempt fails, note whether the problem was damage or survival. If Xenolord still has substantial health when the timer expires, improve levels, traits, skills, player ammunition, or active shooting. If the army dies early, add more replacements, improve armor and shields, spread the base, and clear adds faster.
Common failure points and fixes
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Several Pals die together | The army is stacked for convenience. | Widen the base deployment and separate Ice and Dragon waves. |
| The boss survives the timer with plenty of health | Too little uptime, weak attackers, or the player is not firing. | Use stronger Ice/Dragon Pals, rotate earlier, shoot weak points, and add explosive damage. |
| Damage collapses after the first few minutes | No reserve army. | Breed and level replacement attackers before crafting another slab. |
| Adds overwhelm the base | Single-target focus never changes. | Use broad-area or meteor skills and remove adds immediately. |
| The player dies repeatedly | Standing in beam paths or relying on insufficient protection. | Use top-tier armor and shield, keep moving, heal during safe windows, and preserve distance from the Pal cluster. |
| Ultra attempt runs out of ammunition | Reserve was sized for a normal boss fight. | Carry a deep ammunition reserve and reload during safe movement windows. |
| A Pal appears to contribute very little | It is underleveled, poorly suited to Dark/Dragon defenses, or spends too much time defeated. | Replace it with a durable Ice or Dragon attacker and improve its skills and level. |
What happens when Xenolord is defeated?
Xenolord cannot be caught with a sphere. Winning instead awards an egg that hatches into Xenolord. Palworld.tools states the 10-minute limit and no-sphere rule, while PalMods lists a Huge Dark Egg for Xenolord and endgame raid materials among Ultra rewards. Because the reward is tied to victory rather than capture, your preparation should focus entirely on sustained raid damage and survival.
Save your next slab until the roster that earned the first victory is reproducible: a wide base, separated Ice and Dragon waves, reserve attackers, add-clearing skills, and enough player ammunition to remain active for the full attempt.
