What’s actually slowing this PC down?

In Build Mode on PC or Mac, select the object you want to remove, then press Delete or Backspace. If it will not select or disappear, treat it as a stuck-object problem rather than changing placement settings.
Delete a placed object on PC or Mac
- Open Build Mode, where you can edit the home’s layout and furnishings. See EA’s Build Mode overview.
- Select the unwanted object.
- Press Del or Backspace. EA lists these under the Build Mode tool labeled “Delete object” in its Build Mode tips.
If an object will not delete
First try the ordinary in-game actions available for the item, such as deleting or selling it. If it remains stuck, a community reply on the EA Answers forum suggests trying a reset or debug action, then seeking further help if that does not work. This is case-specific community advice, not a guaranteed fix or universal EA support procedure.
What does not delete an object
The bb.moveobjects cheat changes restrictions on where objects can be placed; it is not the ordinary delete control. For a placed object you no longer want, select it in Build Mode and use the deletion key. EA explains the cheat’s placement behavior in its cheat FAQ.
Recycling is also a separate action. The Guntdach Home Recycler, available in Build Mode, can process eligible items in a Sim’s personal inventory into Bits & Pieces, according to EA’s Fabrication guide. That pack-related gameplay process is not the standard way to remove a placed household object.

The EA control reference cited here does not establish the exact deletion button for PlayStation or Xbox. Check the current controls for your platform rather than assuming a PC key or borrowing buttons used for another action, such as resizing objects.
