LEGO describes set 72306 as an adult display model with 1,911 pieces. The console measures 26 cm wide, 19 cm deep, and over 6 cm high. Those are the console’s published dimensions, not a recommended case size: leave extra room for access and for the layout you choose.
The controller plugs into the console, while the removable dioramas inspired by Gran Turismo and Ape Escape can be displayed separately. Decide whether you want those scenes inside the case, beside the console, or elsewhere before comparing shelf or case dimensions. Choose a case by its usable interior
A clear acrylic display case is a straightforward option for keeping dust off while leaving the model visible. iDisplayit, BOXXCO, and KGBOX each list a case for LEGO 72306. These are vendor claims, not independently verified fit tests. Check the internal width, depth, and height—not just the case’s outside measurements—and confirm that the controller and any scenes you plan to display will fit in your preferred arrangement.

- BOXXCO lists a case for the set and notes that its preorder dimensions are based on LEGO’s published set dimensions and may differ slightly after release.
- KGBOX lists a case for the set, including a slim backlit edition with stated external dimensions of 60 × 24 × 16 cm. External dimensions alone do not establish the space available inside.
Compare the options on internal clearance, accessory layout, how easily you can reach the model, documented material or UV claims, and delivered price. The vendor listings do not establish which case performs best, and the available product information does not provide independent UV-transmission measurements or long-term protection results. Do not assume a case prevents fading or blocks a particular amount of UV unless its documentation supports that specific claim.
Why LEGO’s Play and Display Case is not a fit to assume
LEGO Play and Display Case 5006157 has published dimensions of 39 cm wide, 14 cm deep, and 19 cm high, plus a transparent cover and six baseplates. Its 14 cm depth is less than the PlayStation model’s published 19 cm depth, so the listed dimensions do not support recommending it for this build. Check before buying
- Measure the shelf or cabinet where the display will sit, allowing room beyond the model’s 26 × 19 cm footprint.
- Choose the presentation: controller plugged in or positioned separately, and dioramas inside the case or displayed elsewhere.
- Compare each case’s internal dimensions with the complete arrangement you intend to show. Ask the seller if interior measurements are not listed.
- Review any material or UV-protection claims in the product documentation rather than inferring performance from the word “acrylic” or “display case.”
- Confirm current availability, final measurements, and delivered price with the seller before ordering.
