To do a barrel roll in Forza Horizon 5, launch from a ramp at an angle so one side of your car lifts higher than the other. That uneven takeoff can start a sideways rotation; aim to complete the roll and land upright. There is no confirmed universal car, speed, or ramp setup, so adjust your approach if the car jumps straight, flips end over end, or crashes.
How to attempt a barrel roll
- Find a suitable ramp. Use one in Freeroam or on a stunt course, with enough open space beyond it to land.
- Build launch speed. Approach fast enough to get airborne, but treat speed as something to adjust rather than a fixed threshold: no universal number is established.
- Cross the ramp unevenly. Approach at an angle so one side of the car rises higher. A straight, even takeoff is more likely to produce a regular jump than sideways rotation.
- Let the car rotate and watch the landing. The goal is a sideways roll followed by an upright landing. Avoid obstacles that could interrupt the rotation or send the car into a crash.
- Adjust and retry. If the car does not roll, changes direction in the air, or fails to land cleanly, alter your line across the ramp or try another vehicle. No specific car or tune is established as necessary.
What to change when it does not work
- The car jumps without rolling: Make the takeoff more off-center so one side lifts more than the other.
- The car flips forward or backward: Change the approach line across the ramp; the aim is sideways rotation, not an end-over-end flip.
- The car rolls but crashes: Choose a ramp with more clear landing room and adjust the approach so the car has a better chance of touching down upright.
These are practical adjustments, not a guaranteed recipe: player demonstrations and community discussion show attempts, but do not establish a universally reliable angle, speed, or vehicle.
Barrel rolls and Hot Wheels roll scoring
Forza’s official Hot Wheels update describes a G-Forza roll indicator for tilted tracks in Hot Wheels Park. The indicator responds to the car’s rotation, and skills depend on speed and tilt. That is context for roll-related scoring in the expansion, not an official step-by-step guide to performing a barrel roll in the base game.
For a playlist or seasonal challenge
If you are attempting a challenge, check its listed vehicle or class restriction before choosing a car. The available guidance does not establish any currently active seasonal requirement, so follow the conditions shown in your game rather than assuming a particular vehicle qualifies.
