How you download and play Rocket League Workshop maps depends on where you own the game. Existing Steam owners can subscribe to maps and launch them from Extras > Workshop. Epic Games Store players need a third-party map loader and map files; Epic does not document a native Workshop subscription flow for its installation. Workshop maps themselves can run with Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) enabled or disabled, but mods layered on top require EAC off.

Rocket League became free-to-play on September 23, 2020, and was delisted from Steam for new players. Epic Support says the Steam version is available only to players who owned it before that transition; Epic Support cannot grant a Steam copy. If you are a new PC player, use the Epic Games Store route rather than looking for a new Steam purchase. Epic Support: Steam ownership eligibility

Download and play maps on Steam
This is the straightforward option if you already own the Steam version of Rocket League. The official instructions are in Rocket League Patch Notes V1.25.
- Open the Rocket League Steam Community Hub and go to its Workshop section.
- Choose a map and select Subscribe. Steam downloads subscribed Workshop content automatically; wait for the download to finish.
- Launch Rocket League.
- From the main menu, choose Extras > Workshop, then select the downloaded map.
Load Workshop maps on the Epic Games Store version
Epic’s Rocket League installation does not have a documented native Steam Workshop subscription flow. Community loader projects describe importing Workshop map files and loading them through a designated in-game map slot. This is a third-party workaround, so follow the maintained instructions for the specific loader you choose; tool behavior, folder locations and labels can change with updates.

General workflow
- Choose a loader whose current documentation supports your Rocket League installation. The projects marcbaltes/RL_map_loader and mishnea/RLMapLoader document loader workflows for Epic installations.
- Obtain the Workshop map archive and import it using that loader’s documented steps.
- Use the loader to activate the selected map.
- Launch Rocket League and choose the map slot and mode specified by the loader. One documented route is Training > Free Play > Labs – Underpass; another loader’s instructions also mention Training, Exhibition or Local Lobby.
Do not treat one project’s folder path or menu sequence as universal: use the selected loader’s current documentation for exact labels and installation details. The marcbaltes loader warns that a corrupted or unplayable map may affect game files and the original Underpass map, and describes a Reset Game Files option for its workflow. That is a warning and recovery option documented by that project, not an official Epic diagnosis.

No—not just to play a Workshop map. Epic’s guidance says Steam Workshop maps work with EAC enabled or disabled. Turn EAC off only if you are running third-party mods on top of the map content. Epic says online queues on PC require EAC; the April 28, 2026 Rocket League announcement also says third-party mods can be used with EAC off in Training, offline matches and LAN matches. The announcement states: “Steam Workshop maps are playable with or without EAC, but you’ll want it off if you run mods on top of that content.” In practical terms, a map and a mod layered over a map are different cases: the map alone does not require you to disable EAC, while online PC play requires EAC to be on.

If a map will not load
- Steam: Confirm Steam finished downloading the subscription, then check Extras > Workshop in Rocket League.
- Epic: Confirm the map was imported and activated in the loader, then use the specific Labs – Underpass slot and mode its instructions name.
- Mods: If you are adding mods to Workshop content, follow Epic’s EAC guidance and turn EAC off. Do not expect third-party mods to run while EAC is enabled.
- Broken map or altered game files: Consult the loader’s own troubleshooting instructions. For the marcbaltes project, its documentation describes Reset Game Files; do not assume that option exists in every loader.
