To download Soulstonia, open the official Soulstonia – Demo Steam listing, sign in to the Steam client, select Install Demo, choose a library drive if Steam asks, and wait for the installation to finish. Then open Library, select Soulstonia – Demo, and choose Play. The demo is free to download and is listed for Windows and macOS.
What you need before installing
Soulstonia is distributed as a separate Steam demo application. You need a Steam account and the Steam desktop client; the official listing supplies the download control after you sign in. The demo was released on October 7, 2026, and the listing identifies Windows and macOS as supported platforms.

Open the official Soulstonia – Demo page on Steam. Check that the page title identifies the demo before installing. Using the separate demo listing matters because demo play data is tracked as its own Steam app.

Check your operating system first
The published minimums are different for Windows and macOS. Compare your computer with the table before downloading if Steam has previously warned that a game may not run.

These figures are the requirements published on the official Steam listings by Gabriel’s Games and Steam in 2026. The storage figures are the listed installation requirements, not a promise that every future update will use exactly the same amount of disk space.
How to install the Soulstonia demo
- Install and open Steam. Start the Steam client on your Windows PC or Mac and sign in to your Steam account.
- Open the demo listing. Navigate to the official Soulstonia – Demo page.
- Select Install Demo. Click the Install Demo control on the listing. If Steam displays a destination prompt, select the library drive where you want the demo installed.
- Wait for the download and installation. Keep Steam open while it downloads and installs the files. The progress indicator in Steam shows when the process is complete.
- Launch from Library. Open Library, select Soulstonia – Demo, and choose Play.
The demo is not installed by downloading a separate installer from a third-party site. The Steam listing and the Steam client handle the download, installation, and launch.

The demo is substantially larger than a short, timed preview. Gabriel’s Games describes the following content on the official Steam page.
Five regions are open
All five regions can be explored in the demo. A new save can generate a different world layout, including different villages, roads, resource locations, enemies, non-player characters, landmarks, and other points of interest. That means two new saves may not place every discovery in the same location.

Act I and the Grasslands quests
Act I is playable, with more than 15 quests in the Grasslands. The demo also allows you to continue exploring beyond a single linear quest sequence rather than ending after one introductory mission.
Skills can reach level 99
More than 20 core and hybrid skills can be trained to level 99. The published demo description says there is no progression cap, so the level-99 skill ceiling is not presented as a temporary demo restriction on those skills.
No playtime cap
There is no stated time limit on the demo. You can continue playing the available content without a countdown that ends the session after a fixed number of minutes or hours.
Activities and systems
- Gather resources and craft items.
- Fight enemies.
- Use Magic and Summoning.
- Discover Soulstones.
- Unlock a second Summoner after Act I.
These systems are available within the demo’s stated scope; access to the second Summoner is tied to completing Act I.
Will demo progress carry into Early Access?
According to the developer’s announcement, demo saves are intended to carry into the planned Early Access launch on December 10, 2026. Treat that as the developer’s stated continuity plan for the current demo, not as a guarantee that every future build or platform configuration will preserve every file indefinitely.

What transfers
Your in-game demo save progress is the data the developer says can continue into Early Access. If you played the public Playtest, its save progress transfers into the demo, allowing that earlier progress to continue in the current demo environment.

The demo is a separate Steam app. Consequently, Steam hours played, achievements, and leaderboard data begin fresh for the demo even when your in-game save progress transfers. A new demo-specific achievement total or playtime counter does not mean that the character save itself failed to transfer.
Practical precautions before the Early Access transition
- Keep playing through the same Steam account that owns the demo save.
- Do not delete the demo or its local save data if preserving progress is important to you.
- Allow Steam to finish updates before launching when the Early Access build becomes available.
- Keep in mind that the announced date is December 10, 2026; release timing or transfer behavior can change if the developer updates its plan.
Windows installation and compatibility checks
On Windows, the minimum listing calls for a 64-bit processor and operating system, Windows 10, an Intel i3 Dual-Core, 8 GB of RAM, integrated graphics, DirectX 11, and 500 MB of available storage. The recommended configuration raises this to Windows 11, an Intel i5 Quad-Core, 16 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA 1060 or equivalent while retaining DirectX 11 and 500 MB of storage.
If Steam says your PC does not meet the requirements
- Confirm that Windows is 10 or newer and that the installed operating system is 64-bit.
- Check that at least 8 GB of RAM is available to the system and that the Steam library drive has the listed free space.
- Confirm that the graphics hardware and driver expose DirectX 11.
- If your hardware is below the minimum, do not assume that lowering a setting will overcome an unsupported operating system, missing DirectX feature, or insufficient memory.
- If the computer meets the minimums, restart Steam and try the installation again. A warning from Steam is a compatibility prompt, not proof that the download itself is damaged.
The recommended specification is a target for a more comfortable experience, not an additional purchase requirement. The official listing does not publish a frame-rate guarantee or an independent performance benchmark.
macOS installation and compatibility checks
For Mac, the minimum listing requires macOS 14.0 Sonoma, an Apple M1 or 64-bit Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, Apple M1 integrated graphics or another Metal-compatible GPU, 1 GB of storage, and Core Audio-compatible sound. The recommended listing specifies macOS 14.0 Sonoma, an Apple M2 or Intel Core i7 Quad-Core, 16 GB of RAM, Apple M2 integrated graphics or an AMD Radeon Pro 560X equivalent, 1 GB of storage, and Core Audio-compatible sound.

Before launching on a Mac
- Check the Mac’s macOS version and update to Sonoma 14.0 or newer if your hardware supports it.
- Identify whether the Mac uses Apple silicon or an Intel processor; the minimum listing accepts either an M1 or a 64-bit Intel Core i5.
- Verify available space on the selected Steam library location. The Mac listing uses 1 GB, which is larger than the Windows listing’s 500 MB.
- Make sure the system’s graphics support Metal and that audio is available through a Core Audio-compatible device.
The official page lists macOS support, so a Mac user should use the normal Steam client workflow rather than a Windows compatibility layer unless the user’s own setup requires one. The published requirements do not promise support for older macOS releases than Sonoma 14.0.
How to tell whether the installation worked
A completed download is not the same as a successful launch. Use this sequence:
- In Steam, open Library.
- Find Soulstonia – Demo, not a similarly named wishlist or store entry.
- Confirm that the button reads Play rather than Install Demo.
- Select Play and wait for the game window to appear.
- Create or load a save and check that the game reaches its playable world rather than returning immediately to Steam.
If the button still says Install Demo, Steam has not completed the installation for that library location. If it says Play but the game closes immediately, compare the machine with the platform requirements before trying the installation again.

The Install Demo button is missing
Return to the official demo listing, make sure you are signed in, and confirm that you are viewing the demo app rather than a general Soulstonia information page. The official page is the source that exposes the Install Demo control.
The download will not start
Check that Steam is online, that the selected library drive has enough free space, and that Steam is not waiting for another download or update. Reopen the client and try the listing again. If the computer is below the published operating-system or hardware minimum, resolve that compatibility issue before treating the download as a client fault.

The demo installs but will not launch
Compare the processor, RAM, operating system, graphics API, and available storage against the applicable table above. On Windows, DirectX 11 is part of the minimum listing. On macOS, Sonoma 14.0 and Metal-compatible graphics are part of the minimum listing. A machine can have enough disk space and still fail because another requirement is missing.
The game opens, but performance is poor
The official sources provide minimum and recommended configurations but do not publish a tested frame-rate table. If the game is playable but slow, close other applications, ensure the computer is using its intended graphics hardware, and try the game’s own lower-quality settings if available. Do not interpret the recommended specification as a guaranteed frame rate.
My old Playtest progress is not visible
The developer says public Playtest save progress transfers into the demo. Confirm that you are using the same Steam account and the same local computer or save location used for the Playtest, then launch the demo from Library. Steam’s demo-specific hours, achievements, and leaderboard values will still start fresh because the demo is a separate app.
Demo availability and the Early Access timeline
The demo is available on Windows and macOS following its October 7, 2026 release. Steam Next Fest is scheduled for October 19–26, 2026; the event is separate from the basic installation process, so you do not need to wait for the event to download the demo while the listing is available.
The developer’s announced Early Access target is December 10, 2026. Until that launch, the demo remains the way to explore the five regions, play Act I, train the listed skills, and test the save-continuity plan.
