You can earn FC Coins without paying by playing Ultimate Team matches, collecting mode rewards, completing Objectives and season progress, and selling tradeable Items on the Transfer Market. You cannot legally buy Coins from another player, move them between accounts, or use giveaways and price manipulation to transfer them. The exact payout changes by mode, rank, performance, season and game version, so the live reward hub in your copy of Ultimate Team is the final authority.

What “earning FC Coins for free” actually means
FC Coins are the in-game currency used in Ultimate Team. “Free” means receiving Coins through gameplay or selling Items you already earned; it does not mean using a loophole, buying a discounted balance from a website, or accepting a transfer from another account.
- Legitimate sources: match completion rewards, mode rewards, Objectives and season-related rewards, and sales or quick-sells of tradeable Items.
- Not legitimate: third-party Coin purchases, Coin giveaways, deliberately manipulating prices to move Coins, and funneling Coins or Items through multiple accounts.
- Separate currencies: event Tokens are not Coins. For example, Festival of Football Tokens are gameplay-only and cannot be traded like Coins, although the event Token Store can exchange them for other club rewards.
EA Help summarizes the rule plainly: you can earn Coins by playing Ultimate Team and selling Ultimate Team Items on the Transfer Market, but you cannot buy Coins. A method that promises a faster balance by bypassing those routes risks restrictions or a ban rather than a sustainable club.

Which method is fastest?
There is no universal Coins-per-hour winner because the reward depends on your result, rank, mode and the time you can spend. A high-level player who consistently reaches strong online ranks may earn more from Rivals or Champions. Someone with limited time, an unreliable connection or a preference for solo play may build a steadier balance through Squad Battles, match payouts and tradeable rewards.
Use this decision rule:
- Choose a mode you can complete consistently rather than repeatedly abandoning difficult matches.
- Claim every available reward as soon as its qualification period ends; an unclaimed reward does not help your balance.
- Sell only Items marked tradeable and check the current market before listing.
- Review the live reward menu each season instead of planning around an old screenshot or a fixed Coins-per-match claim.
Earn Coins from Ultimate Team matches
EA says match Coin amounts are affected by factors including performance, competition level and mode. A completed match can therefore pay a different amount from another match, even when both are in Ultimate Team. Goals, results and the level of competition may influence the payout, but EA does not publish one permanent amount that applies to every match.
How to make match play worthwhile
- Play the mode whose match length and difficulty fit your schedule. Consistency matters more than selecting a mode you rarely finish.
- Finish matches rather than quitting early. A forfeited game may reduce your progress toward mode rewards and can waste the time already invested.
- After the final whistle, check the post-match reward screen and your Coin balance so you know the game registered the result.
- Combine match play with Objectives when an Objective asks for actions you can complete naturally. This lets the same games advance more than one reward track without paying for anything.
EA’s FC 27 launch notes compare a typical FC 26 match payout of roughly 500–600 FUT Coins with the potential for Champions and Rivals matches in FC 27 to reward several times more. That is a launch-note comparison, not a guaranteed rate: the live game, mode and your result determine what you actually receive.

Rivals
Rivals suits players who want repeatable online games and can maintain a rank. Your reward is tied to the division or rank you reach, so the practical target is the highest level you can hold without turning every session into a loss-heavy grind. Play enough matches to qualify for the current weekly reward, then claim it through the mode’s reward screen when it becomes available.
Champions
Champions offers the highest top-end Coin range in the FC 26 Season 1 example, but it also demands online competition, qualification and a placement result. Treat the 85,000-Coin ceiling as a season-specific maximum example, not an amount every entrant receives. Check the current Champions requirements and reward tiers before committing a weekend to it.

Squad Battles
Squad Battles is the clearest no-spend option for players who prefer to play against AI opponents. Your weekly standing comes from points and performance, so difficulty and results affect where you finish. It can be a practical fallback when online latency, matchmaking or schedule makes Rivals and Champions unreliable.
Sell tradeable Items safely
Tradeable Items can be listed on the Transfer Market. EA says each Item has a minimum and maximum listing price, while the market price moves with supply and demand. The same Item can therefore be worth more or less at different times.
Listing workflow
- Open your Club and filter the Item to confirm that it is tradeable. Untradeable Items cannot be listed.
- Search the Transfer Market for comparable listings of the same Item, including quality, position or version where those differences affect value.
- Check the current range and choose a fair price within the Item’s allowed minimum and maximum. A price far above current demand may leave the Item unsold; a rushed low listing gives away potential Coins.
- List the Item for the duration and price shown in the market interface, then review the transfer list for a sale or an expired listing.
- If you need immediate space or a small guaranteed return, use the game’s quick-sell option on a tradeable Item. Compare that immediate value with a market listing before confirming.
Prices fluctuate because the number of listings and the number of buyers change. Do not mistake a single listing for the Item’s true market value, and do not use coordinated overpricing, giveaways or unusual transfers to move Coins between accounts. Those behaviors fall under EA’s prohibited distribution and manipulation rules.

What to sell first
- List tradeable Items you do not need for your current squad, Objectives or planned upgrades.
- Keep an Item only when its gameplay value or a known upcoming requirement is worth more to you than its current sale value.
- Use quick-sell for low-value Items when listing would consume more time than the likely return, but remember that quick-selling ends the opportunity to receive a higher market price.
- Never list an Item solely because a social-media post claims a guaranteed future price. Demand can move in either direction.
Complete Objectives and season progress
Objectives are another no-spend route to club resources. Their contents change with campaigns and events, so there is no permanent Objective list to memorize. Some rewards may be Coins, while others can be packs, Items, Season progress or event currency that indirectly improves your club.
A practical Objective routine
- Open the current Objectives and Season areas before starting a session.
- Read the conditions and note which ones overlap with the mode you already intend to play.
- Prioritize time-limited Objectives first, then permanent or long-duration tasks.
- Track progress after matches and claim completed rewards immediately; an unclaimed reward does not enter your Club.
- Recheck the list after an event changes, because a new campaign can replace or add tasks.
Do not spend Coins on a player, consumable or challenge merely to force completion of a low-value Objective. The no-spend approach works best when Objectives fit matches you would play anyway.
Unlocking the Transfer Market on a new account
New Ultimate Team players may not have immediate full access to the Transfer Market. EA says they must complete three Objective groups: The Journey Begins, First Team Dreams and Rising Through the Ranks.
- Enter Ultimate Team and open the Objectives area.
- Complete every requirement in The Journey Begins.
- Complete every requirement in First Team Dreams.
- Complete every requirement in Rising Through the Ranks.
- Allow the account review and market unlock to process after the groups are complete.
EA says full access can take up to 48 hours on PC and up to 24 hours on other platforms after completion. The waiting period is not a reason to buy Coins or use a second account. Continue playing eligible matches and claiming available rewards while access is pending.
FC 26 and FC 27: why old earning advice may be stale
Game-version changes can alter both match payouts and the amount of your rewards that is tradeable. FC 27 launch notes describe increased Coin rewards from eligible matches, more Season Points from those matches and a higher share of tradeable rewards. They contrast this with roughly 500–600 Coins typically earned from an FC 26 match and say FC 27 Champions and Rivals matches may potentially reward several times more.

These notes describe the launch direction, not a permanent table for every FC 27 season. If you move between versions, check the reward hub, mode rules and Item details in the version you are actually playing. Advice based on FC 26 Season 1 ranges should not be presented as a current FC 27 guarantee.
A zero-spend weekly plan
The following routine uses the documented sources without assuming a fixed payout:
- Start with the reward hub. Record the current Rivals, Champions and Squad Battles targets, reward contents and deadlines.
- Check Objectives. Mark tasks that overlap with your chosen mode and identify any event deadline.
- Play your reliable mode first. Use Squad Battles for predictable AI sessions or Rivals and Champions when your online schedule and skill make the qualification worthwhile.
- Review every earned Item. Keep required or useful untradeable Items, list tradeable surplus Items at fair market prices and quick-sell only when the immediate return is preferable.
- Claim rewards on time. Collect completed Objectives and weekly mode rewards through their respective menus.
- Reinvest carefully. Spend Coins only after protecting a reserve for the squad changes or consumables you genuinely need; do not chase a speculative listing.
- Repeat after the reset. Reward ranges, Objectives and event currencies can change, so rebuild the plan from the live menus each week.
Common mistakes and how to fix them
Relying on a guaranteed Coins-per-match number
Problem: A guide promises that every match pays the same amount.
Fix: Treat match payouts as variable. EA ties them to performance, competition level and mode, and the game version can change the reward structure.
Using an old reward table
Problem: You plan around the FC 26 Season 1 ranges after the season or version has changed.

Fix: Open the current mode hub and read the live reward preview. The published ranges are historical examples, not an enduring promise.
Listing an Item without checking whether it is tradeable
Problem: You expect a sale but the Item is locked to your Club.
Fix: Verify the tradeable status before searching prices. Only tradeable Items can be listed; an untradeable Item can still have squad or Objective value.
Paying a third party for a shortcut
Problem: A seller, giveaway or account service asks for login details or promises delivered Coins.
Fix: Do not provide access or participate. EA prohibits third-party Coin purchases and other distribution schemes, including funneling through multiple accounts.
Confusing Tokens with Coins
Problem: An event Token balance appears not to increase your Coin total.
Fix: Use Tokens in the event’s Token Store or other designated gameplay exchange. Festival of Football Tokens, for example, are not tradeable Coins.
