To edit an existing Sim, enable cas.fulleditmode in the cheat console, then use the Sim’s Modify in CAS interaction. EA’s older guide gives the full sequence: enter testingcheats true, enter cas.fulleditmode, then Shift-click the Sim and choose Modify in CAS. This works for a Sim in your household or another Sim you can select.
Open Create-a-Sim for an existing Sim
- Open the cheat console. On PC or Mac, press Ctrl + Shift + C.
- Enable cheats. Type
testingcheats trueand press Enter. - Enable full CAS editing. Type
cas.fulleditmodeand press Enter. - Open the Sim’s menu. Shift-click the Sim and select Modify in CAS.
EA’s official cheats FAQ identifies cas.fulleditmode as the cheat that opens the Sim character-creation menu. The sequence and interaction labels above come from EA’s 2014 The Sims 4 Players Guide; menu wording may differ in later versions.
What you can change in CAS
Create-a-Sim offers controls for facial features, skin tone, hair, makeup, accessories, body presets, tattoos, weight, and muscle mass. These options are described in EA’s PlayStation 4 manual; the precise controls depend on the platform.
The 2014 guide says Modify in CAS allows editing everything except the Sim’s name and inherited traits. That limitation is what EA documented in that guide; it should not be read as a guarantee that every later version has identical editing rules.

What happens to weight and muscle afterward?
EA’s PS4 manual notes that a Sim’s weight and muscle mass can change with their lifestyle after you confirm the appearance. So the body shape selected in CAS is not necessarily permanent during play.
Using the cheat on PlayStation or Xbox
EA’s cheats FAQ also documents cheat entry on PlayStation and Xbox, and lists cas.fulleditmode as opening the character-creation menu. The detailed controller instructions cited here are for PS4, not a complete current walkthrough for every console edition. Follow the prompts shown in your game to open the cheat entry interface and enter the same documented sequence.
