How to start Glyndwr’s escort
- Complete Gift of the Bow. This earlier quest helps Glyndwr train with his new bow and leads into his trial.
- Return to Glyndwr near Vernworth’s weapon shop. After completing the earlier quest and allowing the return interval described in the walkthrough, find him near the shop and agree to accompany him.
- Follow Glyndwr toward Sacred Arbor. His destination is the Ancestral Chamber, east of Sacred Arbor. Continue into the chamber with him.
How to rescue Doireann from the Ogre
Inside the Ancestral Chamber, Glyndwr indicates that Doireann is being held by an Ogre. His arrow temporarily staggers the creature, creating an opening to reach her.

- Move to Doireann while the Ogre is staggered.
- Pick her up and carry her out of the chamber.
- Once she is safe, help defeat the Ogre and leave with the group.
- Speak with Taliesin outside to complete the sequence.
The quest objectives explicitly include rescuing Doireann and carrying her out of the Ancestral Chamber. The guide-reported route and rescue sequence are described in GameSpot’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 walkthrough; the quest objectives are also listed by Kiranico’s quest database.
What to do after A Trial of Archery
Doireann’s rescue does not itself resolve the Arborheart problem. After A Trial of Archery, return to Sacred Arbor and speak with Doireann by the Arborheart to begin the separate quest The Ailing Arborheart. The guide reports that further tasks become available after returning and resting for a full day.

Finding the material Doireann asks for
Doireann asks for gwyfencha. If a Pawn has the Woodland Wordsmith specialization, it can translate the term as scalecinder. The walkthrough directs you to Brokkr’s Smithy in Bakbattahl to speak with Sara; the quest database also lists later objectives involving nutriabh and gathering scalecinder. Guide-listed rewards
GameSpot lists 2,800 XP, 16,000 gold, the Repeller Bow, and a Portcrystal for A Trial of Archery. PowerPyx lists 1,600 XP for The Ailing Arborheart. These are walkthrough-reported rewards, not independently verified guarantees across every game version.

Keep the quests separate
“Escort Glyndwr” means accompanying him during A Trial of Archery, which also contains Doireann’s rescue. The Ailing Arborheart is a later, distinct quest. The game’s quest list also separates Out of the Forest, Into the Forge; it is not the Glyndwr escort sequence.
