To evolve Hisuian Qwilfish into Overqwil in Pokémon GO, make it your Buddy and win the raid battles required by its evolution task. The standard task is listed as 10 raid wins, but check the task on your own Qwilfish’s details page in case the live requirement differs.
What you need to do
- Open Hisuian Qwilfish in your Pokémon inventory and set it as your Buddy.
- Win raids while completing its Buddy evolution task. Pokémon GO Hub lists the standard requirement as 10 raid wins, while The Pokémon Company confirms that a specific number of raid wins is needed but does not give the count. - Open Qwilfish’s details page to check the evolution task and its progress. Niantic says task details appear on the Pokémon’s details page and can differ by species. Niantic’s evolution guide explains how these tasks work.
- Once the task is complete and the evolution is available, check Qwilfish’s summary for any displayed Candy requirement, then tap Evolve. Niantic says the required Candy amount is shown on the Pokémon’s summary page.
What counts toward the task
The cited requirement is to win raids; merely taking part is not enough. The available sources establish that Qwilfish must be your Buddy for the raid-win task, but do not establish that it must be in the raid battle party.

Find Qwilfish and check whether it can evolve
Use the Pokémon inventory search to find Hisuian Qwilfish by name. Niantic also documents the evolve search filter for finding Pokémon that can currently evolve. Search behavior and available filters are described in Niantic’s inventory search and filtering guide.
Is Hisuian Qwilfish available right now?
Hisuian Qwilfish debuted in Pokémon GO during the 2022 Hisuian Discoveries event, as documented in the official event announcement. That announcement is historical, not a current availability calendar; it does not establish whether Qwilfish is spawning or appearing in raids now. Encounter availability can change.
