Where is Braithwaite Manor?
The plantation sits in Scarlett Meadows, in Lemoyne, just south of Rhodes. The hidden-secret location is not the manor house itself: look along the estate’s southwest waterfront, south of the nearby workers’ buildings. How to find Braithwaites’ Secret
- Travel to Braithwaite Manor, south of Rhodes.
- Go around to the southwest waterfront side of the estate and look south of the workers’ buildings for a concealed outhouse.
- Pause nearby and listen to the person inside before interacting with or inspecting the structure.
- After hearing the occupant, inspect the outhouse to record Braithwaites’ Secret as a point of interest.
The order matters: the GameFAQs community guide warns that inspecting the outhouse too early can prevent the point of interest from being recorded. Its instructions are in “Where can I find some Points of Interest?”.
What changes after the manor burns?
Braithwaite Manor features in Chapter 3’s story mission “Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern.” During the mission, the gang confronts the Braithwaites and searches the house for Jack; the manor burns at the end. A community location guide reports a gold-bar lockbox in a room east of Catherine Braithwaite’s body, accessible from Chapter 4 onward. Treat that timing and placement as guide-reported rather than officially confirmed; check the ruins in your own save if you are looking for it.
Optional nearby things to check
If you want to extend the visit beyond the outhouse, community location notes also point to the estate’s boathouse, a naval compass, a cigarette card, and a scarecrow hat in the southern cornfields. These are optional exploration leads; confirm availability and exact placement in your current save.

No. You can find this one-location secret in-game by following the route above. The Red Dead Redemption 2 Complete Official Guide is aimed at broader exploration, with annotated maps, hidden lockbox information, collectibles, and completion roadmaps, rather than being necessary for this visit.
