In Aion 2, “diamonds” means Diamond Gemstone, a gathered crafting material—not the game’s Kina currency. Mine Gem nodes, then run a repeatable loop through the region available to your faction. The database lists a mastery requirement of level 1 and four possible Diamond Gemstone grades. Because community map coverage and live node availability differ, the most efficient route is the one you verify and measure on your own server.
Start with a current Diamond filter on a regional map, prioritize dense clusters, gather every usable node, and record your actual nodes and grades over several short runs. This approach avoids treating map-marker totals, unverified prices or assumed respawn times as guaranteed results.

What “diamonds” are in Aion 2
Diamond Gemstone is a gathering material obtained from Gem nodes. It is used as a material for handicrafting accessories, according to the item database at AION 2 item information. It is not the currency used to buy and sell items.
The global-client guide spells the currency Kina; other English guides commonly write Kinah. Those words describe money, while Diamond Gemstone is an item you gather and either keep for a recipe or sell through the Market. The distinction matters because a search for “diamond farming” can otherwise lead to currency-farming advice instead of gathering instructions. How Diamond Gemstone gathering works
The gathering database classifies Diamond as a Gem node and lists a mastery requirement of level 1. That means the listed requirement is the starting threshold shown for this material, not a recommendation to grind mastery before you begin. The same database lists four possible outcomes:

Where to farm Diamond Gemstone
Choose a region your character can actually reach, then use a map with a Diamond or Diamond Gemstone filter. Two 2026 community maps show why marker totals should be planning aids rather than guarantees:

The Verteron figures differ by 36 markers even though both pages list 200 for Altgard. The difference can come from each map’s coverage, update timing or inclusion rules; neither total is an authoritative live-client count. Do not add the two datasets together, and do not infer that every marker will be present when you arrive. Use one current map for navigation, then verify each location in the game.

Build an efficient route before you leave town
1. Pick the accessible region
Start with the region available to your faction and current character progression. A route in a region you cannot enter, or one that requires a long detour from your normal play area, is not efficient regardless of its marker count. If both regions are available, test each rather than assuming that the published total predicts your personal yield.
2. Filter for Diamond nodes only
Open the regional map you trust, select its Diamond or Diamond Gemstone filter, and zoom until individual markers are readable. Hide unrelated gathering categories if the map supports that option. The goal is a route you can follow without stopping to identify every material type.
3. Connect clusters, not every marker
Draw a loop through the densest visible group first. A compact circuit reduces travel between interactions and gives you a clear starting point when you repeat it. Add isolated markers only if they are on the way or if your first run shows that the cluster is usually empty. Do not design a route solely around the largest number printed on a map; the conflicting Verteron totals demonstrate that marker datasets are not interchangeable.

Write the route as a sequence of durable landmarks—an entrance, bridge, camp, road junction or named terrain feature—rather than as a list of marker coordinates you may not be able to read while moving. This makes it easier to notice a missing node and to resume the loop after combat or an interruption.

5. Record the route version
Note the map page and date you used. Community maps change, and a route that was dense in one update may be sparse in another. Keeping the date beside your notes lets you distinguish a map change from a genuinely poor farming session.
Run the loop in game
- Travel to the first cluster. Begin at the same recognizable point each test run so elapsed-time comparisons are meaningful.
- Approach every marked Gem node. Confirm that the object in front of you is the Diamond node, not another gathering category placed nearby.
- Gather and sort immediately when practical. If your inventory allows it, keep the four grades in separate slots or a clearly labeled storage section. This prevents a high-grade item from being lost among base materials.
- Mark the result of each location. Record “present,” “already unavailable,” “not present,” or “could not reach.” A community marker may represent a shared node or a location that is temporarily unavailable when you arrive.
- Continue through the cluster before detouring. Finish the compact group first. Only chase an isolated marker when the extra travel is justified by your own notes.
- Finish at the starting landmark. A closed loop makes it easy to compare one circuit with the next and to see whether the route is being shortened by skipped locations.
- Repeat at a consistent pace. A single run is a snapshot. Several short runs at similar times and with the same route provide a more useful estimate of availability than one unusually lucky circuit.
The procedure deliberately avoids promising a respawn schedule. No verified respawn interval is established for Diamond nodes, so do not wait a fixed number of minutes and assume a node must have returned. Instead, record what is present when you arrive and adjust your circuit from observed results.
Measure efficiency instead of trusting a “best farm” claim
There is no sourced, apples-to-apples test comparing Diamond routes by diamonds per hour, and there is no demonstrated personal gameplay test establishing a guaranteed yield. You can still make a reliable decision by running a small, repeatable comparison on your own region.
A practical route test
- Choose one cluster route and run it three times without changing the start point or the order of locations.
- For every run, record total elapsed time, nodes actually present, nodes gathered, and the count of each Diamond grade.
- Record travel interruptions separately from gathering time. A route that looks dense on a map may lose time to detours, enemies or inaccessible terrain.
- Repeat the same process in a second accessible region or an alternative cluster if one exists.
- Compare the results by useful output per minute, not by marker count alone. “Useful” means the grades you need for your recipe or the grades that sell on your current server.

How to choose between two routes
Prefer the route with the better repeatable result for your objective. If you are crafting an accessory, a shorter circuit that reliably produces the required grade may beat a longer loop with more base Diamond Gemstone. If you are selling, compare the grades that buyers currently list or purchase on your server. A route with fewer total nodes can be superior when it produces more of the grade you can use or sell.

Do not label a route “best” from one lucky run. Publishable map totals are not performance studies, and the available evidence does not establish a universal diamonds-per-hour figure.
Keep the right grades for handicrafting
Before selling anything, check the accessory recipe you intend to make. The item database identifies Diamond Gemstone as a handicrafting material, but it does not establish that every recipe accepts every grade. Keep the exact grade named by your recipe and store other grades separately until you decide what to do with them.
Simple storage workflow
- Create one inventory or storage section for base Diamond Gemstone.
- Use separate sections for Fine, Pure and Radiant grades.
- After each loop, move materials into the correct section before starting another circuit.
- Keep a small reserve of the grade your current accessory plan consumes.
- Sell only the surplus after checking your recipe and current Market conditions.
This prevents the common mistake of listing a needed grade because its name looks similar to the base item. It also lets you calculate the value of a route from the materials that remain useful to you, not merely from the number of nodes touched.
Sell surplus through the Market carefully
If your goal is income rather than crafting, inspect the current server Market before setting a price. The AION2 Market catalogue states that it was checked against the official Global EU catalogue on 5 October 2026, but it also warns that its lowest listed prices are not confirmed sales or real-time prices and that its coverage is partial. Use AION2 Market as a reference, then verify the live listings in your own client.

Price-check each grade
- Search the exact item name, including the grade.
- Check how many listings are active and whether the displayed lowest price is an isolated listing.
- Compare several listings rather than treating the lowest number as guaranteed revenue.
- Account for the quantity you can actually gather and sell; a high displayed price does not prove that buyers are purchasing at that price.
- Recheck before listing a large batch because market conditions change.
Do not calculate a guaranteed profit from a catalogue price. Your realized return depends on whether the item sells, the final transaction conditions and the current supply on your server.
Fix the most common route problems
The marker is present on the map but not in front of you
Check the immediate area from several angles and confirm that you are at the same landmark shown by the map. If the node is still absent, record it as unavailable and continue. The community maps describe shared, respawning nodes, so another player may have gathered it or the marker may represent a location that is not active at that moment. Do not stand indefinitely at one marker waiting for an unverified timer.
Your map has a different number of locations
That is expected when map datasets use different coverage or update rules. Aion2 Atlas lists 156 Verteron and 200 Altgard markers, while AllThingsHow lists 192 Verteron and 200 Altgard locations. Select one map for route planning, note its date, and validate the route in game rather than merging totals.

Recheck the map filter and the node category. Diamond is categorized as a Gem node, so a nearby marker for another gathering type can look similar when several filters are enabled. Verify the item name after gathering before counting the stop as a Diamond result.
Your inventory fills during the circuit
Move non-Diamond materials to storage before leaving, reserve space for all four Diamond grades, and shorten the loop until you know how much capacity a normal run consumes. An inventory stop is part of route time; include it in your test rather than ignoring it.
The route is busy or repeatedly interrupted
Record the interruption instead of assuming the map is inaccurate. Test the same loop at another time, remove isolated markers that require long travel, or switch to a different accessible cluster. Compare the completed runs using nodes gathered and useful grades per minute.

Errors that make Diamond farming look inefficient
- Confusing Diamond Gemstone with Kina. You cannot farm the currency by gathering this item; they are separate systems.
- Assuming every marker is live. Community maps are guides, not guarantees of an available node at your arrival time.
- Combining incompatible map totals. The Verteron counts differ between the two cited 2026 maps, so adding them would double-count or misrepresent coverage.
- Expecting a fixed grade distribution. Four grades are listed, but no sourced drop percentages establish how often each appears.
- Waiting on an invented respawn timer. No verified interval is available; measure availability through repeated circuits instead.
- Using a posted price as profit. A lowest listing is not proof of a completed sale or a real-time market price.
- Optimizing total nodes instead of useful output. The best route for a recipe may be the one that supplies its required grade fastest, not the one with the most markers.
Five-minute checklist before each farming session
- Confirm that you are farming Diamond Gemstone, not Kina currency.
- Check the current map and select the Diamond filter.
- Choose an accessible region and a compact cluster loop.
- Clear inventory space for all four listed grades.
- Note the map source and date in your route log.
- Start a timer at the same landmark used in previous tests.
- Mark every location as present, unavailable, unreachable or gathered.
- Sort the grades when you return.
- Keep recipe materials and check the live Market before listing surplus.
- Update your route notes after the run instead of assuming the published marker count is still accurate.
