Dragon’s Dogma 2 has two main ways to shorten a journey: take an oxcart along its set route, or use a Ferrystone to travel to a Portcrystal. Oxcarts let you choose a stop along the route; teleportation is more flexible, but only reaches Portcrystal destinations.
Choose the travel method that fits your destination

How Ferrystones and Portcrystals work
A Portcrystal is the destination; a Ferrystone is the travel item used to reach one. You cannot use this system to teleport to any arbitrary point on the map. The game’s June 2026 update notes describe an Eternal Ferrystone and the ability to use Ferrystones from the map by moving the cursor to a Portcrystal. Check the current in-game interface and item availability, as exact steps may depend on your platform and game version.

Earlier guides describe ordinary Ferrystones as consumable and portable Portcrystals as objects that can be placed to establish future destinations. Availability, acquisition details, and other item specifics may change with updates, so check your current game rather than relying on older counts, prices, or unlock instructions.
How to travel by oxcart
Oxcarts offer route-based travel between connected places. Capcom’s official manual says, “When boarding an oxcart, you can select a location that lies along the cart’s route at which to disembark.” In other words, you can choose a stopover, but not a destination outside that cart’s route.

Capcom’s June 2026 update notes describe the addition of an Eternal Ferrystone and map-based Ferrystone use: move the cursor to a Portcrystal to target it.
