Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteOpen the Roblox group page and check the browser address bar. In the standard group URL, the group ID is the number immediately after /groups/. Copy that number alone; the text after it is a readable group-name slug.
Find the ID in the group page URL
- Open the page for the Roblox group or community you want.
- Look at the URL in your browser’s address bar.
- Find the number immediately after
/groups/and copy that number, without the slash or the group name that follows it.
For example, in the illustrative URL roblox.com/groups/1234567/group-name, the ID is 1234567. The trailing group-name text is a slug, not part of the ID.
If the ID is not accepted
- Check that you opened the intended group page.
- Make sure you copied only the numeric segment after
/groups/, with no extra URL characters.
Using a group ID in Roblox development
A group ID is a numeric identifier. Roblox documents GroupService:GetGroupInfoAsync(groupId) for retrieving information about a group, including its ID, name, owner, description, emblem URL, and roles. This is useful for validating or using an ID in a game script, but you do not need an API to find the number in the URL.
To retrieve groups associated with a particular user, Roblox documents GroupService:GetGroupsAsync(userId). The returned group entries include an Id field. For Cloud API work, Roblox’s Groups documentation also uses a {group_id} path parameter.
