The first six are available during the earlier Gizeh story; the other four are tied to content unlocked after escaping the Temple Excavation Site. This guide lists every location, the access steps, and what to do with the stelae once you find them. Spoilers for Gizeh quests and locations follow.
Before you start: useful tools and quest timing
- Carry the lighter for routes blocked by thatch or wooden doors. Several routes also require the whip; the Victory Stele route calls for a torch.
- The Harvest Stele is in a locked chest. Its code is 0805.
- Four stelae are enough to continue The Idol of Ra. To find the later four, first escape the Temple Excavation Site and speak with Nawal again.
The names below follow the order used in the location guides; it is not a required collection order. The directions come from walkthroughs by GameSpot and Gameranx. Some landmarks are described differently between guides, so use the in-game map and the named locations to orient yourself.
The first six Gizeh stelae
1. Giant Stele
Look for a pit near the Sphinx. GameSpot places it east of the Sphinx ruins, while Gameranx describes a hole south of Gizeh Village. Use the whip to descend, burn the thatch with the lighter, and crawl through the opening into the chamber.
2. Protector Stele
This stele is at the end of the Sanctuary of the Guardians beneath the Sphinx. Start that side quest and find the pendant in the Recreation Area. GameSpot recommends wearing the Digsite Outfit and complying if an officer requests alcohol to avoid provoking the area. Return to Gina and continue underground through the mirror puzzles, Golden Mask interaction, scorpions, and breakable wall. In the final mirror setup, Gina must reflect the beam to open the rear door; the Protector Stele is beyond it.

3. Sebek Stele
Find the underground tomb near the Nazi Recreational Camp. One route description places its entrance northeast of the Recreation Area. In Gameranx’s detailed route, use a sledgehammer on a wall, burn the wooden door with the lighter, and cross the spike pit with the whip after opening a gate with its lever. Follow the passage to the stele.
4. Harvest Stele
In the garage by the Nazi Vehicle Garage and Recreation Area, inspect the workbench for the Code Letter Note. The locked chest is in the back of a truck. Enter 0805 to open it and collect the Harvest Stele.
5. Victory Stele
Search the scorpion-filled tomb described as southeast of the Khefe Excavation Site by Gameranx; GameSpot describes the location as west. Bring a torch to keep the scorpions at bay, burn the hay blocking the low opening, then crawl into the nook containing the stele.

6. Light Stele

Restore power to the elevator by activating the generators and switches, then ride down to the Queen’s Chamber. Arrange the illustrated plates with the bird at the top, snake in the middle, and fish at the bottom. Follow the beam to a weak wall and break it with a two-handed weapon to reach the Light Stele.
Turn in four stelae to continue The Idol of Ra
Once you have any four, return to Nawal. She directs Indy to give them to her delivery boy for transport to the Cairo Museum. This advances The Idol of Ra into the northern Nazi-facility segment. After you escape the Temple Excavation Site, return to Nawal and take the remaining-location list to start Belongs in a Museum.

Complete Belongs in a Museum
After collecting the remaining stelae, deliver them to Nawal’s delivery boy. GameSpot reports that completing the hand-in awards a Gizeh Relic, which contributes to the chapter’s Riddles of the Ancients collectible quest.
Can you return to Gizeh later?
PowerPyx’s June 2025 100% guide says completion-related content can be finished after the story, while qualifying that statement as needing confirmation. It also notes that some areas lock after their levels and that missed collectibles in those areas relocate to regional hubs. That is general completion guidance, not confirmation that every Gizeh route remains accessible exactly as before, so collect any Gizeh items you can while progressing and check the regional journal if you return later.
