To find every Journalist Stash in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, finish A Needle in a Haystack, check your personal stash, and take the Journalist’s Flash Drive. That activates the stash markers. GameSpot’s guides document 12 stashes before a recording points to a final chest in Prypiat, for 13 total. The routes below follow the guides’ numbered order; that order is not established as mandatory.
Unlock the Journalist Stash markers
- Complete A Needle in a Haystack, after giving the Ward Sensors to either Richter or Captain Zotov.
- When prompted to check your personal stash, open it and take the Journalist’s Flash Drive. GameSpot says this triggers a message and adds the stash locations to the world map. (GameSpot’s first 12-stash guide)
- Open the PDA to track the markers. On keyboard, press P for the PDA and M for the map. GSC Game World’s support page says the map shows explored regions, locations, the player’s position, quest markers, caches, and other markers; the mission log tracks active and completed missions. Where to find the first 12 Journalist Stashes
Some stashes require climbing or jumping, and others involve anomalies or enemies. The guide numbers below are a route reference, not proof that you must collect them in sequence.

Find the final Journalist Stash in Prypiat
The recording after stash #12 points to a thirteenth chest in Prypiat, at the northern edge of the map. GameSpot’s route reaches the city through the main mission The Boundary, which opens two paths to Prypiat after you obtain the M-Scanner in the Red Forest and Yaniv regions. - Gain access to Prypiat through The Boundary after obtaining the M-Scanner in the Red Forest and Yaniv regions.
- In Prypiat, follow the quest marker. Keep along the southern wall toward a courtyard and apartment building.
- Go near the top floor and enter keypad code 2021 to reach the chest.
The guide lists a Margach D-12MT customized shotgun, Hunter modified sniper rifle, PSZ-21W Shturm armor with a +12 kg maximum weight bonus, and a Journalist PDA message as the stash’s contents.

Why some guides say there are only 12
The count depends on whether the final Prypiat chest is included. GameSpot’s first guide covers 12 and explains that the twelfth stash triggers a recording about one more; its separate Prypiat guide gives the thirteenth location. Game8’s search listing also describes 13 stashes and says the Prypiat marker appears after the first 12, but its page could not be opened, so it is only corroboration.
