There are 15 Gourdies to collect in Ninja Gaiden 4. PowerPyx’s October 2025 guide places them across Chapters 1–12 and Chapter 19. Regular Gourdies require a button combination to capture; blue Gourdies must be approached from behind while they are looking away. The route below follows PowerPyx’s numbering and chapter landmarks, so it contains collectible spoilers.
Directions and collectible counts below are attributed to PowerPyx’s Ninja Gaiden 4 Gourdy guide, published October 20, 2025. The guide includes chapter videos that can help if a landmark is difficult to recognize.
How to capture regular and blue Gourdies
- Regular Gourdies: When you reach one, enter the button combination shown by the game to capture it.
- Blue Gourdies: These are skittish. Watch their movement, get behind them while their backs are turned, and capture them without being spotted.
Chapter-by-chapter Gourdy locations
Chapter 1: Bloodsoaked Tokyo — Gourdy #1
After the first Purgatory Gate route, return to the main path and cross the Caddis Wire gap. On the far side, turn left instead of right. The Gourdy is in front of some boxes.
Chapter 2: Haunted District — Gourdy #2
In the square room with a broken yellow monorail track on the left and vendors on the right, climb the shipping containers to find the Gourdy.

Chapter 4: Pilgrim’s Windswept Path — Gourdy #4 (blue)
After leaving a short cave, stop before using the second Dragonfly Glider. Turn right instead of gliding to find a lower ledge. Use the Caddis Wire and pillar route to get behind the Gourdy, then capture it while it is unaware of you.
Chapter 5: Raging Valley — Gourdy #5
At the cave intersection with three green torches overhead and yellow flowers on the left wall, wall-run up and turn left. Slide beneath the rock wall and follow the tunnel to its end.
Chapter 5: Raging Valley — Gourdy #6 (blue)
After the four-temple area and bell puzzle, face the temple and turn right. Look up for the Caddis Wire point, then wall-run to reach the Gourdy. Approach from behind without letting it see you.

Chapter 6: Guiding Winds — Gourdy #7
After the second yellow flying-bird flip, turn around and look down toward the ledge on the right. Jump across to it.
Chapter 7: Altar of the Mountain God — Gourdy #8
At the chapter’s start, take the stairs down on the right rather than the stairs on the main route. Follow them to the Purgatory Gate; the Gourdy is just behind it.
Chapter 8: Drowned District — Gourdy #9 (blue)
At the chapter start, turn 90 degrees right. The Gourdy circles behind a closed gate. Wait until it turns its back, then capture it.
Chapter 9: Realm of Silent Dead — Gourdy #10
At the end of the second surf area, jump the ramp and turn around before entering the crystal cave. Surf left, continue through the fiends, then use Caddis Wire to climb. Take the Dragonfly Glider across the void. After landing, look beside the AC unit behind a chest.

Chapter 9: Realm of Silent Dead — Gourdy #11 (blue)
On the second return to the crystal alternate dimension, use the flying-bird flip to reach the cliff. Turn right rather than heading straight to surf. Jump along the ledge to a platform, then wait for the Gourdy to turn away before capturing it.
Chapter 11: Infiltration — Gourdy #12
After a flying-bird flip, continue to the rail track and shipping containers. Do not ride the track: go around the containers and follow the path up the stairs.
Chapter 12: Dragon’s Maw — Gourdy #13
After crossing the large void, follow the main path to a small staircase beside two Caddis Wire poles. Check beside the cargo containers to the left of the stairs; the Gourdy is behind a chest in the corner.
Chapter 12: Dragon’s Maw — Gourdy #14 (blue)
After the Dragonfly Glider and railway, you will land among elite enemies and two D-0037 vanguards. Clear the enemies, pass through the gate, and turn left. Surprise the Gourdy from behind.
Chapter 19: Ebon Wings — Gourdy #15
In the room with triangular steel beams, cross the bridge and follow the path up the shaft. Go through the door and look to the right, between three crates.

PowerPyx says Gourdies are not missable: its guide describes chapter replay in New Game+ as a way to recover missing collectibles. It also says collection progress is saved to your profile after reaching a checkpoint. If one is missing, replay the chapter containing it and reach a checkpoint after collecting it.
Which chapters have Gourdies?
The guide’s route covers Chapters 1–12 and Chapter 19. It notes that Chapter 14 has no collectibles generally. The chapter list above contains the Gourdy-specific locations and preserves the guide’s numbering.
