Where to find Shogun X
During Chapter 6 Season 1, the roaming Shogun X could appear at random locations around the island. Contemporary guides identify the Oni Mask map icon as the way to track him; it was not a fixed spawn point. When the icon appeared, mark it on the map and head toward it. Roaming Shogun X and the floating-island encounter
Chapter 6 Season 1 had two distinct versions of the fight. The roaming boss was tracked through the map icon. Later in the season, a separate final encounter took place on a floating island. Beebom reported a golden Oni Mask marker for that island; Dot Esports said the final Shogun X appeared after the fourth storm circle had passed. Those are season-specific details from contemporary guides, not verified instructions for the current game.

How to fight Shogun X
Beebom described a forward slash and a teleport followed by either a slash or a volley of Oni Mask attacks. Dot Esports also warned of fireballs, fire on the ground, and thrown fire masks. The guides’ recommendations below are advice from those season-era pages, not independently tested or guaranteed tactics.

- Prepare for other players. Beebom warns that opponents may contest the boss or its reward, so watch for players as well as Shogun X.
- Enter with shields ready. Beebom recommends full shields before starting the fight.
- Keep moving and watch his attacks. Both guides advise staying mobile to avoid damage. If he teleports or begins an attack, reposition rather than standing still.
- Aim for the head when you have a safe opening. Both guides recommend headshots. Beebom suggests bringing an Oni Shotgun if available.
- For the island encounter, follow its marker. Keep the floating-island fight distinct from the roaming boss; the golden marker is a detail reported by Beebom for this season.
What Shogun X dropped
The reported loot differed by encounter, and the two guides do not give identical lists. For the roaming boss, both describe a Fire Oni Mask and a boon, with a Mythic weapon also reported. For the floating-island encounter, both associate the fight with a Typhoon Blade and Fire Oni Mask, though their descriptions differ on the exact items and rarity.
Epic’s Chapter 6 Season 1 announcement specifically confirms the Wanderer Medallion: “Defeat Shogun X for the Wanderer Medallion, which grants infinite stamina and invisibility while sprinting.” That is the clearest official description of a Shogun X reward; the fuller phase-by-phase loot lists above come from secondary guides.

Epic’s announcement states that Chapter 6 Season 1 ended February 21, 2025, at 2 AM ET. The sources cited here do not verify whether Shogun X or these rewards remain available in Fortnite’s live game in October 2026, so treat the encounter details as historical rather than current-season guidance.
