If you want to play on PC, confirm that your regional Steam listing actually grants Zero before buying; the other established route is playing the original PlayStation 2 release on compatible hardware or through PCSX2 with a legitimate copy.
Is Ace Combat Zero available on PC?
Yes. Bandai Namco announced a Steam version of Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War as an offer associated with Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. Steam describes Zero as a separately launched DLC executable, but says Ace Combat 8 must be installed to use DLC. The listing examined still called Zero a preorder offer even though it gave October 1, 2026 as the release date. That mismatch leaves post-launch eligibility unclear: do not assume a new purchase of Ace Combat 8 automatically includes Zero, or that Zero is available as a standalone purchase. How to check the official Steam offer before buying
- Open the regional Steam page for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve and read the current offer language. Confirm that it explicitly grants Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War; an old preorder label is not proof that a current purchase qualifies.
- Check the account or edition you plan to buy with, and verify that Zero appears as an included entitlement before completing the transaction. The available listing information does not establish that every post-launch buyer qualifies or that Zero can be purchased separately.
- Review the language information for the Zero version, not just for Ace Combat 8. Steam lists Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish support for Zero, and warns that its supported languages may differ from the main game.
- Plan to install Ace Combat 8 as well as the Zero DLC. Steam states: “ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE must be installed in order to utilize DLCs.”
Other ways to play on a PC
Use a PS2 copy with PCSX2
The original game was released for PlayStation 2 on March 23, 2006. PCSX2’s compatibility database marks the North American edition, serial SLUS-21346, as “Playable.” That is a compatibility rating, not a source for the game files or console BIOS, and it does not establish that obtaining those files is lawful in your location. Buy the original disc for PS2 hardware
A used PS2 disc is another option if you have compatible console hardware. Before buying, check the disc’s condition and region, and make sure your console and controller work. Bandai Namco uses the title Ace Combat: The Belkan War in some European regions, so the box title may differ from the North American Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War.

The listing’s post-release preorder wording does not answer whether all current purchases include Zero, whether an eligible offer is still active in every region, or whether Zero will be sold separately. Treat the Steam store page and the entitlement shown for your own purchase as the deciding information; do not rely on an older announcement or search-result wording alone.
