Where to look for free Fortnite cosmetics
Check the Item Shop
Open Fortnite and review the current Item Shop, or visit the official Fortnite web Item Shop. Shop inventory rotates, so an item’s availability and price can change. Confirm that an item is marked free before claiming it; seeing a cosmetic mentioned elsewhere does not establish that it is currently available.
Check challenges and free Battle Pass rewards
Epic says players can earn free items by completing in-game challenges and access free content from the Battle Pass. Check the current game menus for active challenges and the Battle Pass reward track. Requirements and available rewards depend on current game content; Epic’s guidance does not establish that a particular cosmetic is available at any given time.
Secure your Epic account with 2FA
Epic also lists securing an account with two-factor authentication as a way to earn free items. Enable 2FA through your Epic account’s security settings if it is not already enabled. This is a general route Epic identifies, not a promise of a specific current cosmetic for enabling it.

Open Fortnite and select the Item Shop, or open the official web Item Shop.

Use the in-game or web prompt to claim the item, then follow any confirmation step shown.

For rewards outside the Shop, open the relevant challenge or Battle Pass screen and complete the listed requirements.

Shop stock and game rewards change over time. If a free item is not displayed in the official Shop or current game menus, do not assume it can be claimed through another site.
What happens if you miss a reward?
Seasonal items and challenges
Epic says many free items are released for a particular season and are available only during that season. Its Player Support team says it cannot grant missed items on request, so a past seasonal challenge is not something Support can restore for you.

Possible returns for newer Battle Pass items
Epic says Battle Pass items released after August 7, 2024 may become available in the Item Shop at least 18 months after the Battle Pass expires, but a return is not guaranteed. This conditional policy does not establish a return date for a specific item or apply to every older Battle Pass item. Support also cannot grant items or offers that are not currently in the Shop. Check the live Shop rather than treating the 18-month period as a promise.

Epic says real offers appear in the Epic Games Store, official Epic websites, or official Epic social media channels. Treat third-party posts promising free cosmetics or V-Bucks as unverified unless Epic confirms them through one of those routes. Do not provide account access or follow instructions to open an unofficial support ticket to claim a supposed reward.
