The Torment Stag is the quest surrounding Garren Rood, the Omen Stag and protector of the Dendrit people. To reach him, follow the quest’s guiding spirit, free Avakot, and ask about a secret glade. A detailed guide for Preludes 15 reports a four-statue puzzle and a fight with Lady Deora before the Torment Stag; puzzle and progression details may differ in your current build.
Who is the Torment Stag?
Garren Rood is the Omen Stag, a great spirit associated with the Andurin Glades and a protector of the Dendrit people. “Torment Stag” refers to his corrupted state in the quest. The Soulframe Wiki’s Garren Rood page reproduces his Codex description and quest lore.
Garren and Lady Deora were childhood friends. In the story, Garren first meets her as a fawn beside a river and returns a jar she drops. Later, after the Ode invade Midrath, they capture Garren and attempt to convert him. Deora, under Lord Synod’s spellsong, takes part in that attempt. The Envoy intervenes, ultimately saving both characters, restoring Garren, and healing his glades.
Where does the quest start?
The French community wiki reports that The Torment Stag follows The Last Pensive and begins at Garren’s Sanctuary. This is a community-reported prerequisite and location, not a confirmed statement about every current build. See Soulframe Wiki France’s quest page.

How to follow the route to the glade
- At the quest start, follow the guiding spirit. Shacknews describes this as the route into the quest area.
- Defeat the enemies guarding the caged animal, then free Avakot.
- Speak to Avakot and ask what it knows about a secret glade.
- Follow the sparrow into the Dermak Labyrinth, as described by the French community wiki, and continue along the quest route.
The route details are covered in Shacknews’s quest guide and the French community wiki. If a marker or route differs in your build, prioritize the in-game quest objective.
How to solve the four-stag-statue puzzle
A Soulframe Hub guide for Preludes 15 reports a four-statue puzzle before the arena. It gives this order as a direct configuration:

- One of the best board games for families, adults, teens and kids aged 10+. Perfect icebreaker game. Easy and fun for everyone! Perfect as a Thanksgiving or Christmas game

The guide also recommends using Spectral Sight to inspect the mural clues. Treat the fixed sequence as version-sensitive: look at the in-game mural and use its clues if the listed arrangement does not work in your build. The puzzle information comes from Soulframe Hub’s Torment Stag guide, not a developer confirmation.
What happens in the boss encounter?
The same guide reports that Lady Deora is fought immediately before the Torment Stag. It lists the Stag’s attacks as charges, antler attacks, stomps, and projectiles. Watch the enemy’s movement and attack cues, evade rather than remain in the path of a charge, and use openings after an attack to respond. Exact attack behavior and counters may change between builds; the guide’s sequence and move list are not official current-build documentation.

What rewards and follow-up quests are reported?
Soulframe Hub reports that defeating the boss grants a Garren Rood pact fragment and Royal Tines, and unlocks the Garren Rood pact. Soulframe Italia reports that completing The Torment Stag opens An Invitation…, which in turn unlocks Enclave Votives. These are community-guide progression reports rather than developer-confirmed guarantees; check your quest log and unlocks in the current build. The reports appear in Soulframe Hub’s guide and Soulframe Italia’s Enclaves page.
