Open Fortnite’s Item Shop and look for the Sonic the Hedgehog section, but treat any shop snapshot as a guide rather than a promise that an item is purchasable. The shop rotates. If you already own a Sonic cosmetic, equip it from Locker in the lobby, use Edit to inspect its styles, and check your account, filters, archive, and experience-compatibility indicators if it does not appear.
Start with the live Item Shop
The Item Shop is the only reliable place to confirm what Epic is offering at this moment. From Fortnite’s lobby, open the Item Shop and look for a section titled Sonic the Hedgehog. Review the individual cards rather than assuming that an indexed web result or an older screenshot represents the current rotation.

- Launch Fortnite and wait until you are at the lobby.
- Open Item Shop from the lobby navigation.
- Scroll through the shop sections until you find Sonic the Hedgehog, when that section is present.
- Open an item card to read its displayed price, item type, set information, included styles, and any purchase restriction shown in the shop.
- Check the current V-Bucks price and availability immediately before confirming a purchase. A bundle and its individual components may not have the same price or availability.
Shop contents change, so an item shown in an Epic search result may be absent from the live game. Conversely, a returning section can appear after an earlier listing has disappeared. Do not interpret a web-indexed shop snapshot as a release schedule or a guarantee that a particular outfit will return.

Epic’s indexed Item Shop result groups several kinds of cosmetics under the Sonic the Hedgehog section. The collection is broader than character outfits: it can include accessories, emotes, footwear, and bundles. The examples below describe what the indexed collection showed, not a promise that every entry is available now.

Prices are not fixed across the collection. The live card is the authority for the amount of V-Bucks required. If a page or screenshot does not show a price for a particular item, do not infer one from another Sonic cosmetic.
Important date and availability caveats
Indexed shop results are not the live shop
Epic’s search results have shown a Sonic the Hedgehog section while individual detail pages displayed expired purchase windows. That mismatch means you should use the in-game Item Shop to establish current availability. An indexed result can identify the collection and its item types, but it cannot establish that an item is purchasable on the day you read it.
Shadow’s ARK Angel
Epic describes Shadow’s ARK Angel as part of the Sonic the Hedgehog set. The instrument can be equipped in Locker either as a pickaxe or as a back bling. The indexed item page gave a purchase deadline of August 30, 2026; that date has passed. If you own it, you can still look for it in Locker and equip the available slot. If you do not own it, only the live shop can show whether Epic has brought it back.

Sonic Grind Shoes
Epic’s Sonic Grind Shoes listing identifies them as part of the Sonic the Hedgehog set, lists a price of 1,000 V-Bucks, and describes reactive audio while sprinting and jumping. That page also gave an August 30, 2026 purchase deadline, which has passed. Treat the 1,000-V-Bucks figure as the price stated on that listing, not as a current price or a guarantee of future availability.

Choose the right listing before buying
When the Sonic section is visible, identify what you are actually buying. An outfit changes your character appearance; a back bling occupies the back-accessory slot; a pickaxe is your harvesting tool; an emote is selected for an emote wheel slot; Kicks are footwear; and a bundle may contain several of these at once. Reading the item type prevents a common mistake: buying an accessory while expecting a playable character outfit, or buying a bundle without checking which components it includes.
Compare bundles with individual items
Open the bundle details and read its component list before purchasing. Compare that list with items already in your Locker. Ownership can affect what value a bundle offers, but the shop’s displayed total and included contents are the figures that matter for the transaction. Do not assume that every item in a character’s set is included in a bundle simply because the names are related.
Check details shown on the card
- Price: Use the V-Bucks amount currently displayed in the game.
- Type: Confirm whether the card is an outfit, pickaxe, back bling, emote, Kicks item, or bundle.
- Set: A Sonic the Hedgehog set label links cosmetics thematically, but it does not mean all set pieces are sold together.
- Styles: If the listing advertises variations, inspect the style information before buying.
- Restrictions: Look for the compatibility icon or other notice attached to the item.
Equip an owned Sonic item from Locker
Epic’s standard procedure is short: launch Fortnite, access Locker from the lobby, select the item or cosmetic, and click back. Use the category that matches the item you want to equip.

- Open Locker. From the lobby, choose Locker.
- Select the appropriate cosmetic slot. For example, choose the outfit slot for Shadow, Knuckles, or Dr. Eggman; the back bling slot for a back accessory; the pickaxe slot for a harvesting tool; the emote slot for an emote; or the Kicks slot for footwear.
- Select the Sonic item. Highlight the cosmetic you own and open its item details if needed.
- Apply the selection. Choose the item as the active cosmetic for that slot.
- Click back. Epic’s support instructions use clicking back to leave the selection screen after choosing the item.
- Verify the preview. Check the Locker character preview and the relevant slot before entering a match.
Equipping is separate from purchasing. An item can be visible in the Item Shop without being in your Locker, and an item you already own can remain equipable even when it is no longer sold.

Equip a cosmetic with more than one role
Some Sonic items can occupy different slots. Shadow’s ARK Angel is the clearest example in Epic’s item information: it can be equipped as a pickaxe or as a back bling. To use it as a harvesting tool, open the pickaxe slot and select it there. To use the same owned item on your character’s back, open the back bling slot and select it there instead. Selecting it in one slot does not automatically place it in the other.
Equip Sonic Grind Shoes or another Kicks item
For footwear, open the Kicks slot in Locker and select the owned Sonic item. If it does not appear, treat that as a visibility or compatibility problem rather than assuming the item was deleted; follow the missing-item checklist below.
Inspect and change included styles
Styles are customizable or unlockable variations for cosmetics such as outfits, back blings, gliders, and pickaxes. Epic’s instructions are to select the item in Locker and click Edit. The styles included with that pack then appear.

- Choose the item’s category and select the Sonic cosmetic.
- Click Edit.
- Review the style choices displayed for that item.
- Select the style you want and return to Locker.
If no style panel appears, the item may not include alternate styles, or the selected cosmetic may be in a slot that does not offer variations. Do not assume that all items in the Sonic set share the same style options; styles belong to individual cosmetics or packs.

If a Sonic item is missing from Locker
Use this order so that a simple account or display setting is checked before you treat the item as unavailable.
1. Confirm the purchasing Epic account
Make sure you are signed in to the Epic account used when the cosmetic was purchased or redeemed. Cosmetics are tied to the account that owns them. Signing into a different account can make a legitimate purchase appear absent.
2. Open the correct item category
Check the slot that matches the cosmetic. An outfit will not be listed in the pickaxe category, and a back bling will not appear in the emote list. For a multi-role item such as Shadow’s ARK Angel, check both the pickaxe and back bling categories.
3. Clear active Sort and Filter selections
In Locker, remove active sorting or filtering choices and inspect the full category again. A filter left over from another search can hide a Sonic item even when the account owns it. Recheck after clearing both controls rather than relying on a partial result.

4. Check Archived items
Open the Archived items view for the relevant category. An item moved to the archive will not appear with the ordinary active cosmetics list until you restore or otherwise manage it from that view.
5. Recheck the item’s role and compatibility notice
Some cosmetics are restricted in particular Fortnite experiences. If an icon indicates a restriction, the item may be owned but unavailable in the experience or slot you are currently configuring. Check the icon attached to that item in Locker and, when applicable, in the Item Shop.
6. Distinguish ownership from current sale status
An expired shop listing does not remove an item from an account that already owns it. Conversely, seeing an item in an indexed shop result does not prove that the account owns it. Use Locker to verify ownership and the live Item Shop to verify whether a new purchase is possible.
Compatibility differs between Fortnite experiences
Fortnite cosmetics do not necessarily work identically in every experience. Epic indicates restrictions with an icon in Locker and the Item Shop. Check that indicator for the specific Sonic outfit, accessory, Kicks item, or tool and for the experience in which you plan to use it.
- If the item appears in Locker but is unavailable when you select an experience, read the restriction icon instead of repeatedly re-equipping it.
- If a back bling or pickaxe is missing from a particular loadout, verify that you are editing the expected slot and that the experience supports that cosmetic type.
- If footwear or an accessory changes how a character can be used, rely on the item’s displayed compatibility information rather than assuming every Sonic cosmetic is universal.
A practical decision path
Use the following sequence whenever you want a Sonic-themed loadout:
- Looking to buy? Check the live Item Shop’s Sonic the Hedgehog section and read the current card details.
- Already own it? Skip the shop and open the matching Locker category.
- Need a variation? Select the item and choose Edit to view included styles.
- Can’t see it? Confirm the purchasing account, open the correct category, clear Sort and Filter, and check Archived items.
- Can’t use it in a mode or experience? Read the compatibility icon for that item and experience.
This process separates four different situations that are easy to confuse: an item not currently being sold, an item you do not own, an owned item hidden by Locker settings, and an owned cosmetic restricted in a particular experience.
What to verify before you spend V-Bucks
- The Sonic section is present in the live Item Shop, not merely in an older indexed result.
- The exact item name and cosmetic type match what you intend to use.
- The displayed V-Bucks price is acceptable and applies to the listing you selected.
- A bundle’s component list contains the items you want.
- Any advertised styles or reactive effects are described on that specific listing.
- The compatibility icon does not exclude the experience where you plan to play.
For Sonic Grind Shoes, the indexed Epic listing described reactive audio during sprinting and jumping, but its stated August 30, 2026 purchase deadline is already past. For Shadow’s ARK Angel, the indexed page documented both pickaxe and back bling use, while its stated deadline is also past. Those details are useful for identifying the cosmetics, but the live Item Shop remains the final authority on whether either item can be acquired now.
