To loot an ARC Deforester, search Blue Gate for a large, hollow, horizontal cylindrical ARC wreck. Bring two ARC Powercells, use them on the circuit panels inside, cross the fire hazards during their pauses, then climb to the upper platform and search the container at the back. That final search is also reported to complete the A Prime Specimen objective.
Where to find a Deforester on Blue Gate
Look for Deforester wrecks around the Blue Gate landmarks Adorned Wreckage, Barren Clearing, Ridgeline, and the Maintenance Bunker. These are reported search areas, not guaranteed spawns, and guides disagree about how many sites there are and exactly where they sit. The ARC Raiders Wiki describes three sites, while PC Gamer and AllThings.How report overlapping but not identical landmark lists.
On the map, inspect the areas for the long fallen-cylinder shape. The useful confirmation is inside: a functional Deforester has an interactable circuit panel in its hollow lower chamber. Sparks alone do not confirm that the panel can be used. If there is no interaction prompt, try another reported site.
What to bring
Take two ARC Powercells before starting. Guides say you can bring them into the expedition or find them from ARC enemies, though examples of which enemies may drop them vary. Without both cells, you cannot complete the described panel sequence.

How to activate the Deforester and reach the loot
- Enter the hollow wreck and use the live circuit panel. The first ARC Powercell starts the fire sequence inside the lower chamber.
- Watch the flames and cross during a pause. Move toward the rear of the chamber only when the jets are inactive. There is no verified numerical safe window, so time your crossing by watching the hazards.
- Use the rear panel with your second ARC Powercell. This starts another fire sequence.
- Leave the lower chamber during a safe interval and climb to the upper platform. Follow the upper route through the remaining fire hazards, waiting for a pause before crossing each dangerous stretch.
- Search the container at the back. This is the actual loot interaction. Guides also report that searching it advances or completes A Prime Specimen when that quest is active.
This is a timed environmental hazard, not a combat encounter. The Wiki also labels the object as trapped and requiring a breach, but its instructions and the guides’ walkthroughs focus on the power-cell panels and fire sequence. Follow any breach prompt the game presents; do not assume an extra breach step if the interaction does not ask for one.
Why the panel or container may not work
- There is no prompt at the first wreck: It may not be a usable site, or another player may already have completed it in the raid. Check another reported Blue Gate location.
- The quest interaction appears bugged: Guides report interaction bugs but do not establish a definitive fix. Trying another site or extracting and starting a fresh Blue Gate instance are reported workarounds, not guaranteed solutions.
- You reached the upper route but have not claimed the reward: Search the container at the back; reaching it is not itself the loot interaction.
What loot can a Deforester contain?
Reported salvage is ARC-focused and may include ARC Powercells, ARC Circuitry, ARC Coolant, ARC Flex Rubber, ARC Synthetic Resin, Advanced ARC Powercells, Advanced Electrical Components, and Advanced Mechanical Components. This is not a complete or fixed loot table: the Wiki describes the list as a work in progress and says quantities and chances are unconfirmed. Do not count on a particular item or amount.
