To change what Netflix recommends, rate shows you watch or hide unwanted viewing activity from the profile. Saving a title to My List and removing it from Continue Watching serve different purposes; neither is a substitute for hiding viewing activity when you want it excluded from recommendation signals.
How do you find reality shows on Netflix?
Open Search in the Netflix app or on the website and try a specific show title, a reality-related category or genre term, or a relevant name. Netflix says Search can cover titles, genres, names, original languages, and audio or video qualities. Homepage rows are personalized, so Search is the more direct way to look for a particular show that has not appeared in your recommendations. See Netflix’s search and browse instructions.
If you cannot find a title, its availability may depend on your region and the catalog accessible to your account. Check whether the profile’s maturity rating or language settings affect what is shown. Netflix’s catalog and profile settings mean that a title will not necessarily appear for every member.
If your TV menu looks different
On Netflix’s newer TV layout, shortcuts such as TV Shows, Movies, My Netflix, and profiles appear in a top menu. Netflix says the Categories shortcut was removed in that layout; use Search or browse homepage rows such as New on Netflix and Top 10 instead. Natural-language search is limited
Netflix documents a natural-language search option as an opt-in beta for a small group of members using iPhone or iPad. Eligible members can search in their own words, refine results, and send feedback. It is experimental and is not a feature available to every Netflix member. Why does Netflix recommend particular shows?
Netflix says recommendations use signals including what a profile watches and rates, how long a member watches, and whether they start or finish titles. It also considers information about titles—such as genre, categories, actors, and release year—and patterns among members with similar tastes. Time of day, preferred languages, and device are among the other factors Netflix names. Netflix says it does not use demographic information such as age or gender to make recommendations. Personalization affects which rows appear, which titles are placed in them, and their order. Netflix says its strongest recommendations are positioned toward the beginning of a row; the direction is right to left when the system language is Arabic or Hebrew. More recent viewing can outweigh older activity, and Netflix says it continually updates recommendations using signals such as starts, completions, and ratings.
Which Netflix control should you use?

How to tune recommendations with ratings
Netflix’s current rating choices are Like, Love this!, and Not for me. Use them to tell Netflix what you want more or less of; Netflix says ratings help it recommend shows and movies. Ratings are feedback, not a guaranteed switch that immediately changes every row. For details, see Netflix’s rating instructions.

How to hide a show from recommendations
- In a web browser, open Netflix and go to Account.
- Choose Profiles, then select the profile whose activity you want to edit.
- Open Viewing activity.
- Use the hide control beside the episode or title. When hiding an episode, Netflix may offer the option to hide the whole series.
Netflix says a hidden title will no longer appear as watched or in Continue Watching, and will not be used for recommendations unless the profile watches it again. It can take up to 24 hours to disappear from all devices. The help instructions say this action is not available from a Netflix Kids profile. Check Netflix’s instructions for hiding titles from viewing history if the labels differ on your account.
Removing a title from Continue Watching is different
Netflix also offers Remove From Row or Remove from Continue Watching on supported computers, TVs, and current mobile app versions. That action cleans the Continue Watching row; use Viewing activity when the goal is to keep a title out of recommendation signals. Older app versions may require you to use Viewing activity.

How to save reality shows to My List
Add a title to My List when you want to find it again later. Netflix says a profile can store up to 2,000 shows and movies. A title may disappear from the list if it leaves Netflix or is unavailable in your current region.
