They are exploration points to scan for regional information and transmuting resources—not confirmed bathing spots or a restorative hot-spring mechanic.
What Lifesprings do—and how to find them
Guides describe Lifesprings as sources of information about the Lifestream and resources for transmutation. To use one, scan it with Chadley’s tool through a brief quick-time event. For general traversal context, Square Enix says that a caught Chocobo can be called in its home region to assist with that region’s terrain. Its official world overview does not map or name Lifesprings.

The Nibel regional guide lists four sites and says you need the Nibel Chocobo to reach each. The directions below follow the guide’s landmarks; the route descriptions are not confirmed by Square Enix’s general world overview. See the Nibel Lifespring locations for the regional guide.

| Estuary Bluff | From the large waterway, approach from the north side. Land at the craggy cliffside cave entrance and go inside. |
| Gunnthra Terrace | Continue east from the same waterway. Look for a shallow cave outcrop on the north-side cliff. |
| Coastal | Head west along the coast from the waterway. Find a cave atop a hill on the south-side shoreline; the guide places a Summon Crystal directly south. |
| Delta Island | Reach the rocky island outcrop, then use the Nibel Chocobo’s water jets to climb to the Lifespring at the top. |
Don’t confuse Nibel’s Lifesprings with the Cosmo Canyon quest
From Whence Life Flows is a separate Cosmo Canyon side quest, not another name for the four Nibel regional sites. Bugenhagen provides a Mako Detector and an ancient map for a survey of five quest Lifesprings; guides warn that the map can be confusing. The quest guide says completion provides additional lore and a relationship boost with Red XIII. See the From Whence Life Flows walkthrough for that quest’s five locations.

Esoteric Secrets of the Elders is a separate Chapter 11 Nibel side quest. Its walkthrough covers capturing Selena, collecting Chocograss, and completing a final Chocobo race; it does not describe bathing or a hot-spring activity. See the Nibel side-quest walkthrough.
