These instructions come from Playtonic Games’ Bandits & Bounties update announcement, published on 5 October 2026. The update is described as out on console.

How to start a bounty hunt
- Go to the Sheriff’s building. Look for a Wanted Poster there.
- Pick up a bounty. The poster is the starting point for the hunt.
- Search the wilderness. Head out to find the wanted bandit.
- Take down the target and return to Sheriff Tom. Return to him to claim the reward.
Where to find bounty targets
Playtonic’s announcement directs players to track the wanted bandit in the wilderness, but it does not publish map coordinates, named regions, target-specific clues, a spawn schedule, or a special tracking interface. There is no source-backed coordinate route or more precise locator to follow.
How bandit camps differ from bounty hunts
Bandit camps may appear as you explore the overworld and can contain plunder. This is an exploration-based discovery route, not the Wanted Poster bounty loop. The announcement gives no fixed camp locations or guarantee that a camp will appear at a particular time.

Where random robberies and shootouts happen
Random robberies and shootouts may break out at the following businesses:
- General Store
- Butcher
- Carpenter
- Bank
Playtonic describes these as random incidents separately from wanted posters and bounty hunts. The announcement does not say that a robber at one of these businesses is necessarily a bounty target.

- Buried Treasure. Did yer hear? There's treasure in the mines, for those who are brave enough to look for it. From precious metals and minerals to bandit stashes. Grab your pickaxe and venture out into the thrill of prospecting.

Update and platform context
Playtonic’s 5 October 2026 announcement describes Bandits & Bounties as out on console. The game’s PC release date was 27 May 2025, according to its Steam page. Playtonic’s Cattle Country page links to Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox platform options.
