To find Brannof’s inheritance, collect four clues from Hayley Brannof, Lord Brannof, James Newtap, and Oswald Hadley, then use Ink and Quill to inspect the symbols and locate the entrance at Overgrown Road. James’s Tiny Key opens the Out of Place Rock there. Prepare for a level 55 Sentinel Spirit inside.
Start with Hayley Brannof
Find Hayley at the Scrapyard in Hopeport and ask her about the inheritance. She gives you the spiral clue and points you toward the other three clue holders: Lord Brannof, James Newtap, and Oswald Hadley. From Town Square, travel south to Central Waterfront, then west toward Sea Road and the Scrapyard. TheGamer’s walkthrough describes this route.
Collect the other three clues
Lord Brannof: get tracked by Sultar Malzak
Go to Brannof Hall and speak with Lord Brannof. He requires Sultar Malzak to cast a tracking spell on you before he gives you the falcon clue. Find Malzak at the Training Grounds, let him cast the spell, then return to Brannof Hall and speak with Lord Brannof again.
James Newtap: make a Hair Restoration Potion
James is in Pipe Alley, reached from Old Street East. He asks for a Hair Restoration Potion. Before gathering materials, speak with Ebsworth at the Apothecary to learn about the potion. The walkthrough recommends fighting a Hair Beast on Rubble Road at Guard level 10 or above to obtain Hair Beast Hair.

Use Ink and Quill to find the inheritance entrance
Get Ink and Quill from either Lord Brannof’s chambers or Captain Jal Degreene’s office. Use it to inspect the relevant symbols in the Overworld: the spiral is on a wall by the Scrapyard, and the falcon is on a pillar in the Wasteland. The clues are intended to help you triangulate the inheritance, but published walkthroughs do not establish a complete, reliable sequence of coordinates. Follow the symbol checks in-game rather than relying on an unverified coordinate list.

The November 25, 2024 patch notes announced an additional reward for the quest and said players who had already completed it could claim the reward from the treasure chest: official patch notes. A secondary guide describes the storage increase as 16 spaces, but the cited official sources confirm an expansion without stating its size. If you finished the quest before the additional reward was added, check the treasure chest for the claim.
