Where to find the official NFL injury report
The NFL.com Injury Report is the league-wide starting point. Its 2026 season page organizes players by team and week and lists the injury, practice status, and game status. Select the game week you need; the page is updated as reports arrive.
For a late change, check the team’s own latest official statement or injury report. NFL policy makes clubs responsible for providing required injury and participation information to the league, the opposing team, media, and broadcast partners. A third-party tracker can be convenient, but it should not override a newer NFL or club update.
When NFL injury reports are released
Filing deadlines depend on the day a team plays. Under the NFL’s 2026–27 guidance, teams with a typical Sunday game file practice reports on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, followed by the weekly Game Status Report on Friday. Reports are due by 4:00 p.m. New York time or as soon as possible after practice. If a team practices, it cannot substitute an estimated practice-status report.

Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and Wednesday games follow different schedules. Check the NFL’s current important-dates guidance for the specific game week rather than assuming every team follows the Sunday schedule.
The league also requires a team to report a player’s changed condition after the initial Game Status Report. That means an earlier report can be superseded: revisit the league page and the team’s latest official communication when a decision is close to kickoff.

What practice status and game status mean
Practice participation
Practice status describes the player’s participation during the practice week: did not participate, limited participation, or full participation. It is not, by itself, a final answer about whether the player will appear in the game.
Game status
The NFL policy defines the main designations as follows:
Recommended Free Tools
- Out: Will not play.
- Doubtful: Unlikely to play.
- Questionable: Uncertain if the player will play.
“Questionable” is not a fixed probability or percentage. The NFL eliminated “Probable” as a standard designation in its 2016 policy, so it should not be treated as a current category.
Injury description
The injury field identifies the listed issue, with reporting required to be specific enough to be meaningful. A status designation is not a medical diagnosis, nor does it guarantee what will happen during the game.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to resolve conflicting updates
If a tracker, an older league listing, and a club post do not match, compare three things: who issued the update, when it was issued, and whether it describes practice participation or game status. Prefer the newest official NFL or team information. NFL policy says injury information must be “credible, accurate, timely, and specific within the guidelines of the policy, which is of paramount importance in maintaining the integrity of the game.”
The available official guidance establishes the reporting process and filing deadlines, but not a measured accuracy or speed ranking for commercial apps or trackers. Do not assume a third-party service is faster or more accurate without evidence.
