Radiance-specific card odds, rarity symbols, and collector-number ranges have not been confirmed in the Riot material available as of October 13, 2026. Riot has identified Radiance as Riftbound’s fifth set, but the published information does not yet establish its booster configuration, rarity gems, set code, card-count denominator, or pull rates.
You can still identify what is known and avoid the most common collecting mistake: treating Origins information as if it were Radiance information. The verified Origins guide provides a useful reference for how Riftbound’s rarity and numbering systems work, but every Origins number below is labeled as Origins data and should not be used to predict a Radiance pack.

What Riot has confirmed about Radiance
Riot’s 2026 roadmap names Radiance as Riftbound’s Set 5. The roadmap lists Radiance previews beginning September 21, a Radiance Pre-Rift event on October 16–18, and a French release on October 23, 2026. These are roadmap milestones, not a universal release calendar for every language, territory, or product configuration.
As of October 13, 2026, the official material available for this topic does not publish the information collectors need to calculate Radiance pulls or decode a Radiance card number. The status is:

| Collector question | Radiance status | What is verified for Origins |
|---|---|---|
| How many cards are in the main set? | Not confirmed | 298 cards |
| What is the set code? | Not confirmed | Not stated in the cited Origins rules |
| What denominator appears on collector numbers? | Not confirmed | Cards use a 298-card main-set denominator |
| Which gem means common, uncommon, rare, or epic? | Not confirmed | Round, triangle, square, and pentagon respectively |
| How many cards are in each booster slot? | Not confirmed | Seven common, three uncommon, two rare-or-better, one foil, and one token/rune slot |
| What are the pack and box odds? | Not confirmed | Approximate Origins rates only |
| Are there alternate-art, overnumber, or signature markings? | Not confirmed | Origins uses an “a” suffix, numbers above 298, and an asterisk for signature overnumbers |
That means a Radiance card should not be called “1 in 4,” “number 299,” or “the pentagon rarity” unless a Radiance checklist or official collecting guide confirms the same rule for that set.
Why Origins information cannot be relabeled as Radiance information
Riftbound’s official collecting material is set-specific. The preview article and collecting guide discuss Origins products and cards, while the roadmap only establishes Radiance’s identity and planned milestones. Neither source says that Radiance will repeat Origins’ slot distribution, rarity marks, set size, or special-card rates.
Sets often reuse a game’s visual language, but visual similarity is not proof that a future set has identical odds or numbering. A new set can change its total card count, insert a new rarity, alter foil distribution, add special subsets, or use a different product structure. Until Riot publishes Radiance-specific data, the responsible description is “not yet confirmed,” not an inferred value copied from Origins.
Origins rarity symbols: the verified reference
Riot game designer Nik Davidson’s July 28, 2025 Origins collecting article describes four functional rarity levels. The level appears through the card frame and a gem near the bottom of the card. These symbols are documented for Origins only.
Common
Origins common cards use a simple bronze frame and a round gem. A round gem is therefore an Origins identification cue, not a confirmed Radiance symbol.

Uncommon
Origins uncommon cards use a silver frame and a triangular gem. The triangle is the Origins uncommon mark described by Riot.
Rare
Origins rare cards use a gold foil frame and a square gem. The frame treatment and the gem work together; do not identify a card from the shape alone if the printing is difficult to see.

Epic
Origins epic cards use a minimal gold frame, foil treatment, and a pentagonal gem. Riot describes Epics as the rarest of the four functional Origins levels.
Foil and rarity are related but not identical labels
Riot’s Origins rules also distinguish a card’s foil treatment from its rarity tier. All Origins cards have a foil version that can be pulled from booster packs, while rare cards, Epics, and overnumbered cards are foil by default. The separate foil slot is usually common or uncommon, but it can produce a rare or Epic. This is why “foil,” “rare,” and “Epic” should not be used as interchangeable terms when cataloging cards.
Origins booster contents and approximate pull rates
The Origins collecting guide describes a booster as containing the following card slots, plus an informational insert:

| Slot | Origins contents | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 7 cards | Ordinary common slots |
| Uncommon | 3 cards | Ordinary uncommon slots |
| Rare-or-better | 2 cards | These slots can contain a rare or a higher rarity |
| Foil | 1 card | Usually common or uncommon; a rare or Epic is possible |
| Token/rune | 1 card | A separate token or rune position |
The guide gives approximate Origins rates for special results. They are estimates for Origins boosters or boxes, not guarantees for an individual purchase:
| Origins result | Approximate rate stated by Riot | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Epic | About 1 in 4 booster packs | An estimate across Origins boosters |
| Alternate-art card | About 2 per box | A box-level estimate, not a promise that every box contains exactly two |
| Overnumber card | About 1 per 3 boxes | An approximate box rate for Origins |
| Signature overnumber | About 1 in 10 overnumber cards | A conditional rate among overnumber cards, not one in ten boxes |
How an Epic can appear twice in one Origins pack
Riot says that when an Epic appears, it replaces a card in a rare slot. Because an Origins booster has two rare-or-better slots, both slots can contain Epics. The “about one in four” statement is therefore a pack-level estimate for at least an Epic result, not a limit of one Epic per pack.
Why the rates should remain approximate
“About” is part of each published figure. A box estimate describes an average across production, not a guaranteed distribution inside every sealed box. A pack can miss an expected result, and another pack or box can contain more than one special card. The 1-in-10 signature figure is especially easy to misread: it applies to overnumber cards, so it cannot be converted directly into a one-in-10 booster or box chance.
How Origins collector numbers work
Riot’s “What to Expect During Preview Season,” published June 6, 2025, says Origins has 298 cards in its main set. The collecting article illustrates the format with a card numbered 061/298. The number before the slash identifies the card’s position; the denominator identifies the main-set size.
Alternate-art suffix
An Origins alternate-art card adds a lowercase “a” after its collector number. The suffix distinguishes the alternate-art entry from the ordinary card with the same base number. It is part of the card’s identifier, not a new rarity gem.

Overnumber cards
Origins overnumber cards begin above the 298-card main set. Riot’s example states that overnumbers start at 299. A number above 298 therefore signals an Origins overnumbered entry, assuming the card is from the Origins numbering system.
Signature overnumbers
A signature overnumber is identified by an asterisk in the collector number. The asterisk is an additional mark for that special subset; it does not replace the underlying overnumber concept.
Foil versions and collector numbers
Riot says every Origins card has a foil version pullable in booster packs. Rares, Epics, and overnumbered cards are foil from the outset. When cataloging a card, record the collector number and the foil or non-foil treatment separately so that two physical versions are not accidentally treated as two different numbered entries.
How to identify a Radiance card without guessing
Until a Radiance checklist or collecting guide is published, you can prepare a reliable identification process without assigning unverified values. Use the following sequence for each card or sealed product.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Confirm the set and language. Start with the product name, packaging, and language. Keep an English card separate from a French or other-language release in your records. The roadmap’s October 23 date is specifically a French release milestone and does not establish every region’s schedule.
- Look for the printed set identifier. Check the card’s collector-number area and any set abbreviation printed on the card. Do not invent a set code from the word “Radiance” or from an unofficial checklist. If no official code is published, record the field as unconfirmed.
- Read the rarity mark, but label its status. Inspect the gem shape and frame treatment under good light. If the mark matches an Origins symbol, call it an Origins reference only; do not assume Radiance uses the same mapping until Riot says so.
- Copy the entire collector number. Include the number before and after the slash, any letter suffix, and any asterisk. A denominator is essential because the same leading number could belong to different set sizes.
- Check for a subset marker. Look for alternate-art suffixes, numbers beyond the main-set range, or signature indicators. For Radiance, these categories remain unconfirmed; the correct catalog entry is “not stated” until an official list defines them.
- Record treatment separately. Note whether the card is foil, non-foil, alternate art, or another printed treatment. Origins demonstrates why treatment and rarity should not be collapsed into a single field.
- Match the card to the product slot only after a guide exists. If Riot publishes Radiance pack composition, record whether the card came from a common, uncommon, rare-or-better, foil, token/rune, or newly defined slot. Do not assign a slot based solely on the card’s appearance.
- Save the source date with the entry. Set information can be updated after previews or regional launches. A dated official checklist is more useful than an undated social-media image or a seller’s shorthand.
How to interpret odds correctly
Pull-rate statements answer different questions depending on their unit. “Per pack,” “per box,” and “one in a subset” are not interchangeable.

Per-pack rates
An approximate per-pack rate describes the frequency of a result across individual boosters. Origins’ Epic estimate is stated this way. It does not promise that opening four packs produces exactly one Epic, and it does not establish a Radiance rate.
Per-box rates
An estimate such as about two alternate-art cards per Origins box describes an average at box scale. It cannot be safely divided by the number of packs to create an official per-pack probability unless Riot provides the necessary product configuration and methodology.
Conditional subset rates
“One in 10 overnumber cards” starts with the subset of overnumber cards. It is not the same as one in 10 boosters. To estimate a complete pull chance, you would also need the overnumber frequency and the product’s slot rules.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesExpected value is not a guarantee
Collectors sometimes multiply a published average by the number of packs they plan to open. That can describe a long-run expectation, but it cannot predict an individual box. Manufacturing collation, approximate wording, and the possibility of multiple results in one pack all prevent a guaranteed outcome.
Radiance timing and regional availability
The 2026 roadmap is useful for planning, but its entries should be read narrowly. It identifies Radiance as Set 5, places the first previews on September 21, schedules a Pre-Rift event for October 16–18, and lists a French release on October 23, 2026. It does not certify a single worldwide launch date, an English release date, or identical booster availability in every market.
Because the Pre-Rift window overlaps the current October 2026 calendar, event participation and local product access may differ. Verify the language and territory printed on a product before comparing its cards with another release.
Common mistakes when cataloging Radiance
- Copying Origins’ 298-card denominator. Radiance’s main-set size has not been established.
- Calling every pentagon an Epic. The pentagon-to-Epic mapping is documented for Origins, not Radiance.
- Turning “about two per box” into a guarantee. That figure is an approximate Origins estimate.
- Confusing foil with rarity. Origins has a foil slot, and foil versions exist across the card pool.
- Treating an asterisk as a universal signature code. The asterisk rule is an Origins collector-number convention.
- Assuming a French date applies to all regions. The roadmap specifically lists a French release milestone.
- Using seller descriptions as official set data. A marketplace title can omit a suffix, denominator, language, or treatment.
- Reporting a subset rate as a pack rate. The Origins signature estimate is conditional on first finding an overnumber card.
What to look for in a future Radiance checklist
A complete official Radiance collecting guide should answer each of these questions before you calculate odds or build a master checklist:
Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread

- The Radiance set code and where it appears on the card.
- The names and visual marks for every rarity tier.
- The number of common, uncommon, rare-or-better, foil, token, rune, or other slots in each booster product.
- Whether higher-rarity cards replace a specific slot and whether multiple high-rarity cards can occur together.
- The treatment of alternate-art cards and their numbering convention.
- The starting number and notation for overnumber cards.
- The marker used for signatures or other special subsets.
- Separate rates for per-pack, per-box, and conditional subsets, with the product and region identified.
- Any difference between languages, launch waves, event products, and standard boosters.
Until those fields are published, the most accurate Radiance entry is one that preserves the uncertainty. Use Origins’ symbols, 298-card denominator, 299-plus overnumber rule, and approximate booster rates as a clearly labeled historical reference—not as Radiance specifications.
