To find and copy a Roblox sound ID, open Roblox Studio → Toolbox → Creator Store, choose Audio, search for a sound, then right-click its result and select Copy Asset ID. Paste that ID into the appropriate audio asset field in your experience.
Copy a sound ID in Roblox Studio

Open Roblox Studio and open Toolbox.

Select the Creator Store tab, then choose Audio from the category selector.

Search by a descriptive word or title. Use the available quick or advanced filters to narrow the results.

Right-click the audio item you want and select Copy Asset ID.

Paste the ID into the relevant audio object’s asset field. Roblox documents the
AudioPlayerobject’sAssetIDproperty as accepting a valid audio asset ID.
Roblox’s audio-assets documentation describes the Studio copy action. Clicking a search result inserts a Sound instance into Explorer instead of copying its ID.

Use an ID in an audio object
A Roblox asset ID identifies a digital asset. Audio objects such as AudioPlayer or Sound use the ID through their respective properties; do not assume every Roblox interface field expects identical formatting. The general asset-reference form is rbxassetid://[ID], while the AudioPlayer documentation specifically describes its AssetID property. See Roblox’s audio objects documentation.
Find the ID for audio you uploaded
If you upload audio that you have the rights to use, Roblox assigns it a unique asset ID. Roblox documents importing through Asset Manager, Creator Dashboard, or the Open Cloud API, subject to its file and account requirements. Why a sound ID may not work
A valid ID does not by itself mean your experience can play the asset. Roblox assets are private by default, and audio privacy settings control access. You may need to grant permission to the experience or collaborator that needs to use the audio. Check the asset’s access settings and Roblox’s asset privacy guidance.
Also confirm that you put the ID in the correct property for the audio object you are using. These checks address common access and setup issues, but they are not the only possible reasons playback might fail.

Use audio you have permission to use
Finding or copying an ID does not grant rights to the recording. Roblox’s audio import guidance says uploaders must have legal rights to the audio and follow Roblox’s Community Rules and Terms of Use. Roblox’s Terms of Use also explain that owning a sound recording does not necessarily give you the rights needed to make it available on Roblox. Do not reuse a track merely because its ID is publicly visible.
