Yes—Sableye is available in Pokémon Violet. The Scarlet/Violet Pokédex listing includes Sableye in several Paldea wild locations, a fixed encounter in South Province Area Six, and 3-star and 5-star Tera Raid Battles. You do not need to trade from Pokémon Scarlet simply to obtain one.
For a wild search, concentrate on caves and underground areas. The listed locations are Alfornada Cavern, Dalizapa Passage, East Province Area Three, North Province Area One, West Province Area One, and West Province Area Two.

What the Violet listing confirms
The Scarlet/Violet Pokédex database has separate entries for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Its Violet entry lists Sableye as obtainable in the game, rather than marking it as a Scarlet-exclusive Pokémon. That distinction matters because some Pokémon are restricted to one version and require trading for the other version’s owners; Sableye is not presented that way in this listing.

The same entry gives three kinds of availability:
- Wild locations: six named Paldea areas, with cave and underground listed as the relevant spawn biomes.
- Fixed encounter: one entry in South Province Area Six.
- Tera Raid appearances: 3-star and 5-star Tera Raid Battles.
Those are database-listed encounter categories. The listing does not provide a guaranteed route through each area, a spawn rate, a level range, or a schedule for the raids, so those details should not be assumed from the availability entry.

Where to search for Sableye in Pokémon Violet
Wild locations
These are the six wild areas named in the Violet listing:
| Listed area | How the listing describes it | Practical search focus |
|---|---|---|
| Alfornada Cavern | Wild location; cave/underground biome | Search inside the cavern rather than treating the nearby open terrain as the primary target. |
| Dalizapa Passage | Wild location; cave/underground biome | Check the passage’s underground sections while moving through it. |
| East Province Area Three | Wild location; cave/underground biome | Prioritize cave or underground portions of the area. |
| North Province Area One | Wild location; cave/underground biome | Use the same cave-first approach within the named area. |
| West Province Area One | Wild location; cave/underground biome | Search underground sections associated with the area. |
| West Province Area Two | Wild location; cave/underground biome | Look in cave and underground sections rather than relying on surface encounters. |
The biome information is the useful part of the listing when you are standing on the surface and seeing no Sableye. “Cave” and “underground” indicate where to focus your movement; they do not mean every visible point in a named province area will produce the Pokémon.
Fixed encounter in South Province Area Six
South Province Area Six is listed separately as a fixed encounter location. That is different from the six wild-area entries: it identifies a particular encounter entry rather than another broad cave-and-underground search area. The database entry does not state the encounter’s exact position, level, timing, or conditions, so use the area name as the destination and consult the game’s available map information while exploring.
Tera Raid Battles
Sableye is also listed for 3-star and 5-star Tera Raid Battles. This gives Violet players an alternative to searching for an ordinary overworld spawn. The listing confirms those two raid difficulties but does not establish a permanent schedule, a specific den, a guaranteed appearance on demand, or the Sableye’s individual raid details. Treat raids as an additional opportunity when an eligible Sableye raid is available in your game, not as proof that every den will contain one.
A practical way to look for Sableye
The following process keeps the search tied to the locations and encounter types actually listed for Violet.
- Choose a wild-area target. Start with one of the six named locations: Alfornada Cavern, Dalizapa Passage, East Province Area Three, North Province Area One, West Province Area One, or West Province Area Two.
- Move into the cave or underground section. The listing identifies those as Sableye’s relevant wild biomes. If you remain in open terrain, you are not checking the environment the entry specifies.
- Search the named area methodically. Work through the cave or passage instead of abandoning the location after checking only its entrance. The listing establishes the area and biome, but not a guaranteed spawn point within it.
- Use another listed area if the first is unproductive. The six locations are separate options. Switching to a second named area is more evidence-based than searching an unlisted province at random.
- Consider the fixed encounter. If you prefer a non-randomly described entry, include South Province Area Six in your plan. The database identifies it as a fixed encounter, although it does not give the exact in-area position or encounter conditions.
- Check available Tera Raids. Sableye is listed in 3-star and 5-star raids. When one appears in your game, it can provide another route to obtaining Sableye without relying on the ordinary wild-location search.
This is a search plan, not a promise that an encounter will appear immediately. The available listing does not state spawn frequency or raid rotation, so a short search with no Sableye does not disprove Violet availability.
How the six wild locations fit together
Alfornada Cavern
Alfornada Cavern is the most explicitly cave-named option in the list. If you want to test the cave-biome information directly, begin by exploring the cavern itself and checking its underground paths. The entry does not specify a particular chamber, elevation, level, or encounter rate.

Dalizapa Passage is listed as a Sableye wild location. Because the relevant biome is cave or underground, focus on the passage’s enclosed and subterranean sections. A quick look at an open approach to the passage is not equivalent to checking the listed environment.

- Only one code for a Hisuian Zoroark can be used in either the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. Upon purchase of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, an email with your code will be sent to the email address registered to your Nintendo Account. From the in-game menu, go to the Poké Portal, then select Mystery Gift, select Get with Code/Password, and then enter your code.
- The Mystery Gift option can be found within the Poké Portal menu option in the X menu after you unlock the feature in the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. (This occurs after about 1 to 1.5 hours of gameplay, though individual gameplay time may vary.) An internet connection and a Nintendo Account is required to redeem the item in game. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required. Each item can only be redeemed once.
East Province Area Three
East Province Area Three is a broader area name rather than a single cavern name. Use it as a regional search boundary, then prioritize any cave or underground portions inside that area. The listing does not narrow the encounter to a particular landmark.
North Province Area One
North Province Area One is another listed wild area. Apply the same rule: the area is valid, but caves and underground spaces are the relevant places to inspect. No more precise sub-location is supplied by the entry.
West Province Area One
West Province Area One appears in the Violet wild-location list. If you search there, make the underground or cave sections your first pass. The listing confirms the area but does not describe a route, spawn point, or required in-game condition.
West Province Area Two
West Province Area Two is also valid for a wild search. Treat it as a separate option from West Province Area One and check its cave or underground portions. The two area names should not be collapsed into one location: each is listed independently.
Wild search, fixed encounter, or raid: which option should you use?
| Option | What is established | What is not stated | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wild encounter | Six named areas are listed; cave and underground are the spawn biomes. | No spawn rate, level, exact point, or guaranteed timing. | Players who want to search Paldea’s listed environments. |
| Fixed encounter | South Province Area Six has a fixed-encounter entry. | No exact position, level, timing, or conditions. | Players who want to investigate the separately listed encounter rather than rely only on broad wild areas. |
| 3-star Tera Raid | Sableye is listed as appearing in 3-star raids. | No schedule, den, frequency, or individual raid details. | Players who see an eligible Sableye raid available in their game. |
| 5-star Tera Raid | Sableye is listed as appearing in 5-star raids. | No schedule, den, frequency, or individual raid details. | Players whose current raid availability includes the listed difficulty. |
There is no single universally “best” method established by the listing. A cave search is the clearest direct route when you want a normal wild encounter; the fixed encounter is a distinct entry to investigate; and a raid is useful when the appropriate Sableye listing is available to you.
Do you need Pokémon Scarlet or a trade?
No. Based on the separate Scarlet and Violet entries and the Violet locations listed above, Sableye is obtainable in Pokémon Violet without first trading from Scarlet. Owning Violet is sufficient for the availability described here.
A trade can still be a personal choice if you already have access to another player, but it is not a requirement created by Sableye’s version availability. The relevant distinction is between “available in both versions” and “exclusive to one version”; the listing places Sableye in the first category.

You searched only the overworld surface
Return to a listed area and move into its cave or underground sections. Those are the biomes named for Sableye’s wild spawns, so a surface-only search can miss the relevant environment.

You checked an unlisted area
Use the six named wild locations as your reference set. The listing does not establish every Paldea area as valid, so spending time in an unlisted province is not supported by the available location information.
You expected an immediate spawn
The entry confirms availability, not a guaranteed appearance on every pass through a cave. It gives no spawn frequency or timing. Try another listed location or investigate the fixed-encounter and raid entries instead of concluding that Violet lacks Sableye.
You expected every Tera Raid to contain Sableye
The raid information is limited to 3-star and 5-star appearances. It does not say that Sableye is present in every raid, every den, or at all times. Check the raids currently available in your game and treat the listed difficulties as the relevant categories.
You are looking for a precise map pin or level
The location entry does not provide those details. It names areas and encounter categories, so the reliable information is the destination and biome—not a more specific coordinate, level, or route.
What you need—and what you do not
The in-game task requires access to Pokémon Violet and a way to explore the listed Paldea areas or participate in an available Tera Raid. No accessory, repair item, consumable, or outside service is needed to make Sableye available. The important preparation is knowing which locations and encounter categories the Violet entry actually lists.
- Use the six wild-area names as a checklist.
- Prioritize caves and underground sections.
- Keep South Province Area Six separate as the fixed-encounter option.
- Remember both 3-star and 5-star Tera Raid entries.
- Do not assume a trade from Scarlet is required.
How certain is this information?
The location and encounter details come from a community Pokémon game database’s Scarlet/Violet Pokédex listing, which presents separate entries for the two versions. It is useful for identifying listed locations, but it is not an official Pokémon publication. Accordingly, the statements above describe what that database lists: six wild areas, a South Province Area Six fixed encounter, and 3-star and 5-star Tera Raid appearances.
The listing does not establish additional details such as exact spawn coordinates, encounter odds, levels, raid schedules, or special conditions. Keeping those limits in view prevents a failed first search from being mistaken for version exclusivity.
