To open Content Warning’s recordings folder on Windows, launch the game and press F3. Landfall lists the default folder as C:Users(your username)AppDataLocalTemprec. If you watched a recording in-game and chose Save, look on your desktop instead: that saved copy is separate from the recordings folder.
Find the recordings folder on Windows
- Start Content Warning.
- Press F3 while the game is running. The game opens the folder containing its recordings.
- If you need to navigate there manually, Landfall’s documented default Windows path is
C:Users(your username)AppDataLocalTemprec. Replace(your username)with your Windows account name. Landfall’s FAQ notes that mods may change the folder location, so F3 is the more reliable way to open the folder used by your setup.
Find a video saved from in-game playback
If you watched a video in Content Warning and selected Save, check your desktop. Landfall says that videos saved this way are placed there; they are not the same thing as the recordings in the F3 folder. A Steam Community developer reply also confirms the desktop destination: “where can i find my saved videos?”
Recover recordings after a failed run
Landfall says PC players can use F3 to open recordings even after everyone in the session dies. The game stores recordings separately from save files, so check the recordings folder rather than relying on a game save to find the footage. See Landfall’s recovery guidance.
Steam Deck: a player-reported desktop location
A Steam Community player reported finding a desktop-saved video inside Content Warning’s Proton prefix at ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2881650/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Desktop. This is an individual report, not a path documented by Landfall, and it may differ with your Steam Deck setup. The official FAQ cited here provides a Windows path, not an official Steam Deck or general Linux location. Read the Steam Deck discussion.

Don’t confuse Content Warning recordings with Steam Game Recording
Steam’s own Game Recording feature is separate from Content Warning’s F3 recordings folder and its in-game Save action. Steam says its recordings can be viewed in the in-game overlay or in Steam under View > Recordings & Screenshots. If the footage was captured by Steam’s feature, look there rather than in the game’s recordings folder. Steam Support’s Game Recording instructions explain that viewer.
