Illdoers’ Resting Place is in the Misty Marshes, northwest of Vernworth. For the normal Till Death Do Us Part quest route, speak with Oswald in Vernworth’s Noble Quarter, then talk to Margit outside Watchhead’s Home. In the marshes, find the abandoned village and campsite, then head east to the small island where Gregor is fighting a Dullahan.
How to unlock Till Death Do Us Part
The standard quest-giver sequence is Oswald first, then Margit. PowerPyx lists completing Seat of the Sovran as a prerequisite.
- Speak with Oswald near the northwest entrance to Vernworth’s Noble Quarter. He tells you that the watchhead was sent to slay a Dullahan.
- Go to Watchhead’s Home and speak with Margit outside.
- Exhaust Margit’s dialogue and ask about Ser Ludolph. Either response to her question works, but the conversation will not advance if you have not spoken to Oswald first.
There is a sequence-dependent alternative: Gamer Guides reports that you may encounter and rescue Gregor before hearing about the quest. If that happens, treat it as an alternate quest-state route; the usual unlock instructions remain Oswald followed by Margit.
Where to find Illdoers’ Resting Place
Track Till Death Do Us Part to display its quest marker, then travel northwest from Vernworth into the Misty Marshes. The fog makes it difficult to see far ahead, and the minimap does not reliably show the roads. Use the lit braziers as navigation cues rather than relying on the map alone.

Use the village and campsite as landmarks
Look for an abandoned village with a campsite and a Riftstone. From there, look slightly east across the lake for a small island. Gregor and his soldiers are fighting on that island.
- Navigation cue: Follow the visible braziers through the fog.
- Landmark: Find the abandoned village, campsite, and Riftstone.
- Final direction: Head east from those landmarks toward the island.
Hostile undead and other enemies may appear in the marshes, so be prepared for encounters while travelling.

How to complete the quest
Reach the island and aid Gregor in the fight against the Dullahan, also known as the Headless Horseman. The available walkthroughs establish the objective but do not identify a universally required build or combat tactic.
After helping Gregor, return to Margit to report back and close the listed quest objectives. PowerPyx lists the rewards as 2,800 XP, 5,000 G, the Lustrous Targe shield, and the Steeled Virtue sword.
