Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo find Steam Deck Verified games you already own, open your Steam Deck Library and filter games by compatibility rating. To discover new games, use Steam Store’s “Narrow by Deck Compatibility” filters, then check each candidate’s compatibility details and narrow by controls, accessibility, game modes, language, and genre. The Verified badge describes expected technical compatibility—not whether a game suits your tastes or needs.
Find compatible games in your Steam Deck library
- Open Library on your Steam Deck.
- Open the filters for your Library view and select the compatibility-rating filter. The Library can dynamically show games by their compatibility rating.
- Choose the rating that fits your setup tolerance. Start with Verified for games expected to work out of the box; include Playable if you are willing to make the adjustments listed on a game’s detail page.
- Open a candidate’s page and read its compatibility details before deciding. Steam displays the rating for reviewed games, but the specific caveat can matter more than the label.
Valve’s Steam Deck: Deck Verified page describes how ratings appear in the Library and how games can be filtered by them.
Find new Steam Deck games in the Store
- Open Steam Store search filters at Steam Store Search Filters.
- Use “Narrow by Deck Compatibility” to focus results by compatibility rating.
- Combine that with preference filters for controller support, accessibility, player modes, language, and genre or tags.
- Open each likely listing and inspect its compatibility details and the features that matter to you. Store filters narrow the field; they do not determine which game you will enjoy.
What the four compatibility labels mean
| Label | What it tells you | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Verified | Valve says the game works great on Steam Deck out of the box and passes its compatibility checks without configuration work to access all functionality. | Whether the game’s genre, controls, accessibility options, and modes suit you. The badge is not a guarantee of personal fit, every setting, or behavior after every future update. |
| Playable | The game functions on Deck but may require manual adjustments. | Read the listed caveat. Examples include choosing a community controller layout, opening the on-screen keyboard manually, or using the touchscreen to navigate a launcher. |
| Unsupported | Valve’s current compatibility review says the game does not currently function on Deck. Proton or middleware incompatibility can be a reason. | Treat this as the current review result, not a claim that the game will be impossible for every user forever. |
| Unknown | The game has not completed compatibility review; Valve’s label does not provide a compatibility result. | Do not interpret Unknown as a negative test. Check the live game page for any available details. |
These definitions and caveats come from Valve’s Deck Verified page and Steamworks compatibility review documentation.
What Verified checks—and what it does not
Valve reviews four areas: input, display, seamlessness, and system support. In practical terms, the checks consider whether controls work and prompts are appropriate, text is legible at Deck resolutions, the experience avoids compatibility warnings and supports controller navigation through any launcher, and Proton plus required middleware—including anti-cheat—are supported.

Steamworks specifies a 30 fps performance threshold at 800p for Deck’s default configuration and recommends native Deck resolutions of 1280×800 or 1280×720. These are criteria in Valve’s review, not a promise that every game will run at every setting or that every player will prefer its performance or presentation.
Valve’s Steamworks documentation details the review categories. A game-level example is Steam’s Verified page for a game.

Filter for the way you play
Controls and setup
Check controller support and whether a game expects touch, a keyboard, a mouse, or a community layout. A Playable game may be a good match if its specific manual steps are acceptable; a Verified game can still be an awkward choice if its control style does not suit you. Steam Store search includes controller-support filters.
Accessibility
Use accessibility filters when available, then verify the actual listing. Steam’s options include adjustable difficulty and text size, subtitles, color alternatives, camera-comfort features, contrast controls, and features for play without vision or timed input. Availability varies by game, so confirm the feature you need on the game page.

Solo, co-op, and competitive play
Filter by single-player, multiplayer, PvP, co-op, or split-screen according to how you plan to play. A compatibility badge does not indicate whether a game supports the kind of session you want.
Genre, tags, and language
Use genre and tags to find games that match your interests, and language filters to narrow choices to supported languages that work for you. These filters help identify likely candidates, but personal taste still requires judgment.

- Valve is entering the gaming console marketplace with the new Steam Deck, a console geared towards PC gamers. The Steam Deck can be docked to a monitor, and used as a PC, or docked to a TV.
- Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti-glare screen.
- Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 1TB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage.
- Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles.
- The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.
Valve’s live Steam Store Search Filters expose Deck compatibility and many of these preference facets.

Why ratings can change
Deck compatibility is a live, changing review status rather than a permanent catalog-wide verdict. Valve says reviews are ongoing, with new games and updates arriving daily; improvements to Steam Deck can also make previously Unsupported games work. Valve may retest after new Proton releases, added tests, or reports from players or developers. Check the current Store page and its compatibility details when making a decision. Valve also allows users to browse and purchase Store products that may not work well on Deck, while providing compatibility details on the page.
See Valve’s Deck Verified page and Steamworks compatibility review documentation for how the review and retesting work.
