When YouTube search does not surface an older broadcast, use Holodex for channel and collab discovery, Holo no Library for an oldest-to-newest list, and HoloLogs or VTuber-live for catalog filters and availability labels. Treat the YouTube watch page as the final authority because a third-party index can retain an entry after a stream becomes private or unavailable.
This workflow helps you locate streams by remembered title, game, date, participant, or archive status without assuming that every past broadcast remains public.

What counts as an archived Kiara VOD?
A VOD is the recording of a livestream after the live broadcast ends. In Kiara’s case, “archived” does not mean that every historical stream is guaranteed to be watchable. A broadcast may be public, members-only, private, unarchived, or removed. Indexes can document that a stream existed even when YouTube no longer permits playback.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteHolo no Library states that private videos are not listed and that members-only links require an active membership to play. HoloLogs describes its coverage as “almost every archived stream,” while excluding unarchived or not-yet-archived streams and warning that missing data or discrepancies can occur. Those limitations explain why two archive pages may show different results.
#1 Best Overall
The quickest reliable method
- Find the official channel. On YouTube, search for “Takanashi Kiara Ch. hololive.” Open the channel rather than a similarly named clip or fan account, then select Videos.
- Search with the strongest clue you have. Try a distinctive game title, event name, guest, or phrase from the stream title. If you remember a month or year, include it in the search terms and check the upload dates.
- Open the candidate watch page. A result is useful only if the YouTube page loads and the video plays for your account. A thumbnail or title in an index is not proof of current availability.
- Switch to an index when YouTube is awkward. Search Kiara’s channel in Holodex, then use Holo no Library, HoloLogs, or VTuber-live when you need chronological browsing, metadata, or status labels.
- Check the source channel for collaborations. If Kiara appeared with another Hololive member, the recording may have been hosted on the other participant’s channel. Use Holodex’s collab listings and then verify the resulting YouTube link.
Use the official YouTube channel as the final check
The official channel is the canonical place to verify a playable VOD. Third-party catalogs are discovery tools: they collect titles, dates, relationships, and links, but they cannot override YouTube’s current visibility or access rules.
Search by title, game, and date
Begin with the most specific terms you remember. A game name is usually more useful than a broad term such as “gaming stream.” Add a guest’s name for a collaboration, or an event name for a concert, anniversary, or special broadcast. Kiara’s title punctuation may vary, so try both the full title and a shorter phrase.
YouTube’s general search can be inconsistent for older uploads. Once you reach the channel, the Videos tab narrows the results to uploads associated with that channel. Sort your own search mentally by date and compare the result with the date shown in an index; a remembered broadcast date may refer to the local date of the live event while YouTube displays another time zone.
Recognize a playable result
A public VOD should open to a normal watch page with a working player. If the page says that the video is private, unavailable, or restricted to members, the entry has not become publicly watchable merely because a catalog lists it. Sign-in, age, regional, or membership requirements can also affect what you can play.
Do not treat a search snippet, cached thumbnail, or an embedded player that never starts as confirmation. Open the direct YouTube destination from the index, refresh once if necessary, and check whether the account you are using meets any displayed requirement.
Holodex: the best cross-index for discovery
Holodex organizes Hololive-related videos around channels, collaborations, clips, and dates. It is particularly useful when you remember who appeared with Kiara but not which channel hosted the stream, or when you recall only part of a title.
Find Kiara’s channel
- Open Holodex and use its channel search.
- Select Takanashi Kiara’s channel, not a clip channel or an unrelated result with a similar name.
- Review the channel’s videos and date information for a likely match.
- For a collaboration, open the collab or participant view and inspect both Kiara’s channel and the other participant’s channel.
- Follow the YouTube link and verify playback there.
Holodex’s relationship view can reveal a practical reason for an apparently missing VOD: the stream may be present under the collaborator’s upload rather than Kiara’s channel. It also helps distinguish an original livestream from a clip, short, or re-upload.

When Holodex is preferable
- You remember the guest, game, or date but not the exact title.
- The stream was a collab and may be hosted elsewhere.
- You want to separate livestreams from clips and other video types.
- You need a channel-centered view instead of YouTube’s broad search results.
Holo no Library: browse from the oldest stream forward
Holo no Library is useful when you want a chronological list rather than a keyword hunt. Its instructions say: “ホロメンボタンをタップ/クリックすると、配信日時の古い順にYouTubeリンクがリスト表示されます。” In English, selecting a Hololive member displays YouTube links ordered from the oldest stream date to the newest.
Chronological search procedure
- Open Holo no Library and select the member button for Takanashi Kiara.
- Start near the period when you believe the stream aired, using the oldest-to-newest ordering to move forward.
- Compare titles and dates with the game, guest, or event you remember.
- Open the YouTube link for each likely candidate.
- Discard entries that are private, unavailable, or otherwise unplayable unless you are specifically documenting a missing VOD.
This approach is slower than a precise title search but stronger for early streams, alternate title wording, and broadcasts whose YouTube metadata is difficult to find. It also makes gaps visible: an absent date range may reflect the site’s rules, a stream that was never archived, or a source-data discrepancy.
Holo no Library warns that private videos are not listed. It also notes that members-only links require an active membership to play, so a chronological list should not be interpreted as a complete public archive.
HoloLogs and VTuber-live: catalogs, filters, and status clues
HoloLogs for stream-level context
HoloLogs is useful when you want a catalog view of individual streams and related statistics. Its stated scope covers “almost every archived stream,” but it excludes unarchived or not-yet-archived streams and cautions that discrepancies or missing data can occur. Use it to identify a likely title or date, then use the linked YouTube page to decide whether the VOD is currently playable.

VTuber-live for type and availability filtering
VTuber-live’s Kiara archive separates live streams, shorts, music, posts, and premieres. That separation can prevent a common mistake: opening a short, music upload, or post when you are looking for a full livestream recording. Entries can also visibly mark videos as private, which gives you an immediate availability clue before you click through.
Use the type filters first, then narrow by date or title. A private label is an availability state, not evidence that your search terms were wrong. The page may still be valuable for identifying the stream’s title, approximate date, or associated content.
Which index should you choose?
| Index | Best use | Sorting or filters | Collab discovery | Availability caveat |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Official YouTube channel | Confirming that a VOD currently plays | Channel video listings and YouTube search | Limited; check other channels manually | Current playback status is authoritative for the linked account |
| Holodex | Finding channels, related videos, clips, dates, and collaborations | Channel and relationship-oriented views | Strong; collab listings can expose the host channel | Follow the YouTube destination because index entries can become stale |
| Holo no Library | Browsing Kiara’s streams in historical order | Oldest-to-newest YouTube links | Not its primary strength | Private videos are not listed; members-only links require membership |
| HoloLogs | Stream-level catalog context and statistics | Catalog and stream metadata | Useful context, but not a replacement for channel verification | “Almost every archived stream” is not every broadcast; unarchived streams are excluded |
| VTuber-live | Separating lives, shorts, music, posts, and premieres | Type, date, and visible status views | Secondary; use another channel’s page for host confirmation | Entries may be marked private or otherwise unavailable |
How to search when you remember only part of the stream
You remember the game
Search the game’s exact name first, then try a shorter form and common subtitle variations. If the game had a special event, DLC, demo, or tournament, add that term. Check the date shown by the index against the date you remember; a game stream may have been announced on one day and broadcast on another.
You remember the guest or collab
Search Kiara’s channel and Holodex for the participant’s name. If nothing appears, open the participant’s channel and inspect its livestreams around the relevant date. Collab streams are often discoverable through the guest even when Kiara’s channel search does not surface them.
You remember a phrase from the title
Use the distinctive phrase without punctuation, emoji, or capitalization, then try one or two neighboring words. Fan-made clips can repeat a phrase from the original title, so confirm that the result is a full livestream and not a short clip.
You remember only a month or year
Start with Holo no Library’s chronological list or a date-oriented catalog. Move through the relevant period and compare game, guest, and event clues. This is more reliable than guessing a title that may have changed punctuation or wording.

A missing result can reflect several different states. Diagnose the state before trying increasingly broad searches.
Private
A private video is not publicly playable. An index may retain its title or status, but no search variation can make it public. Keep the entry as a record if you need to identify the broadcast, then look for an official alternate upload or a collaborator’s version.

A members-only link may require an active channel membership. Holo no Library specifically warns that members-only links require membership to play. If you have the appropriate membership, sign in and follow YouTube’s access prompt; otherwise, do not assume the stream is deleted.
Unarchived or not yet archived
Some live broadcasts are never left as public VODs. HoloLogs excludes unarchived and not-yet-archived streams, so their absence there does not prove that the broadcast never happened. Search Holodex and the collaborator’s channel, but be prepared for no public recording to exist.
Removed or unavailable
A catalog entry can outlast the underlying YouTube video. If the watch page returns an unavailable message, treat the VOD as currently unplayable. Do not assume that a fan mirror is complete, authorized, or equivalent to the official recording.
Wrong channel or title
Check spelling, alternate punctuation, the original game or event name, and the other participant’s channel. A title may use a Japanese name, an abbreviation, or a themed stream title rather than the game name you remember.
A disciplined troubleshooting checklist
- Confirm that you searched for “Takanashi Kiara Ch. hololive” and selected the official channel.
- Try the game, guest, event, and a distinctive title phrase as separate searches.
- Search Holodex by Kiara’s channel and inspect collab relationships.
- Use Holo no Library for oldest-to-newest browsing during the suspected date range.
- Use HoloLogs for stream metadata and VTuber-live for type and visible status labels.
- Search the collaborator’s channel if the broadcast was a joint stream.
- Open the direct YouTube destination and check playback, sign-in, and membership messages.
- Classify the result as public, members-only, private, unarchived, removed, or not found.
This classification prevents wasted searches. “Not found in one index” is a discovery problem; “private on YouTube” is an access state; “unarchived” means a public VOD may never have existed.
How to avoid common archive-search mistakes
Assuming every index is complete
Each service has a different collection method and coverage. Holo no Library omits private videos, HoloLogs excludes unarchived or not-yet-archived streams, and VTuber-live may show status labels that change over time. Compare indexes when a historically important stream seems absent.
Confusing a clip with the original VOD
Clips, shorts, music videos, posts, and premieres can contain the same game or phrase as a livestream. Check the content type and duration, then follow the original-channel link where available.
Trusting a stale link
Third-party pages can preserve a title and URL after YouTube changes visibility. Always click through and verify playback immediately before treating the recording as available.
Treating a fan mirror as the archive
Fan uploads and mirrors may be incomplete, altered, or unauthorized. Use them only if you independently understand the rights and provenance; the official YouTube link remains the reference point for whether Kiara’s VOD is publicly available.
How to record a useful result for later
When you find a stream, save the exact YouTube URL, displayed title, upload date, and any access label. Note whether it is a full live recording, a premiere, a short, or a clip. For an unavailable entry, record the index name and the status shown on the YouTube page rather than labeling it “deleted” without evidence.
For a collab, record the host channel as well as Kiara’s participation. That detail makes the stream easier to recover if one channel reorganizes its videos or an index changes its layout.
Frequently overlooked edge cases
Date and time-zone differences
Kiara’s broadcast date, the date shown by YouTube, and the date displayed by an index may differ around midnight or because services format time zones differently. Use the game, guest, and neighboring uploads as additional confirmation instead of rejecting a candidate over a one-day difference.
Recommended Free Tools
Title changes and punctuation
Searching a title verbatim can fail when capitalization, emoji, punctuation, or wording has changed. Remove decorative characters, search the central phrase, and then verify the channel and date.
Members-only playback
A members-only entry is not necessarily a broken link. YouTube may show the title and thumbnail while withholding playback from non-members. Follow the access notice rather than repeatedly trying different indexes.
Archive updates
Catalogs are maintained independently, so a newly archived stream may appear in one service before another. Conversely, an older entry may remain visible after the YouTube video becomes private. For time-sensitive viewing, recheck the watch page immediately before sharing the link.
What each tool can—and cannot—solve
Holodex can connect a remembered participant to the correct channel, but it cannot restore a private VOD. Holo no Library can expose the historical order of listed links, but its list is not a promise that every stream was public. HoloLogs can supply useful catalog context, but its “almost every archived stream” scope excludes unarchived material. VTuber-live can separate content types and show visible status markers, but it still depends on the underlying video’s availability.
