How to start the Hollow Halls quest

Which order should you clear the halls?
The Official Enshrouded Wiki lists this practical progression through the regions:

How rune barriers work
Check the barrier’s tally to see how many runes are still needed. Runes may lie on the floor nearby; collect them by walking over them. Some enemies carry runes and are marked with a rune symbol, so defeat those enemies and collect what they drop. If the tally is not complete, search the nearby area and look for marked enemies before moving on.
Requirements for the later halls
Nomad Highlands
The Nomad Highlands Hollow Halls quest requires level 17 and completion of Ectoplasm Press For The Collector. The Official Enshrouded Wiki lists a Gold Chest and 150 XP as the quest rewards. See the Nomad Highlands quest page.
Kindlewastes
The Kindlewastes Hollow Halls quest requires Shroud Passage Level 5 and completion of The Nomad Highlands Hollow Halls. The Official Enshrouded Wiki says a very high Shroud Passage Level is needed and lists a Gold Chest and 150 XP as the quest rewards. See the Kindlewastes quest page.

How to prepare, including for solo runs
Keen Games recommends bringing your best food items and taking campfires so you can rest during exploration. Solo runs are possible, but the developer warns they may be very challenging and recommends bringing friends. Its March 26, 2024 Update #1 notes give that guidance, while the official Hollow Halls announcement confirms the content can be played alone or with a group. The developer does not prescribe a required party size.
