How to Fix a Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro That Won’t Connect or Charge

Check the DeathAdder V3 Pro’s exact model and dongle before pairing. For charging trouble, test a direct USB-C connection and follow safe troubleshooting steps.

If your Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro will not connect, check its exact model and dongle first, then charge it, confirm wireless mode, update applicable firmware, and run Razer’s pairing utility. If it will not charge, reseat the USB-C cable, try a direct PC port and another cable, and inspect the port. The mouse charges over USB-C; it does not support wireless charging.

If the mouse will not connect wirelessly

1. Check the model and compatible dongle

Read the model number on the mouse or its packaging before pairing. Razer distinguishes the Smooth Touch RZ01-046303 from the non-Smooth-Touch RZ01-046301/2. The Smooth Touch model does not work with the HyperSpeed dongle; Razer says it pairs only with the HyperPolling dongle supplied with that mouse. See Razer’s DeathAdder V3 Pro FAQ for the model-specific compatibility information.

2. Check charge, wireless mode, and dongle placement

  • Charge the mouse and make sure wireless mode is on and correctly selected.
  • Plug the dongle directly into the PC rather than starting with a hub. Keep a clear line of sight between the mouse and dongle.

Razer lists up to 90 hours of continuous play as a manufacturer specification; actual battery life can vary. If the mouse has been unused or is low on charge, charge it before continuing with pairing steps.

3. Update firmware only if your model is covered

Razer’s updater page lists firmware v2.02.00_r2, dated May 30, 2025, for non-Smooth-Touch models RZ01-046301/2. Its release note says it fixes wireless reconnection issues “under specific conditions.” Do not treat this updater as applying to the Smooth Touch RZ01-046303. Confirm your model and the current download on Razer’s firmware updater page before running it.

For the covered models, Razer’s update sequence is to update the dongle first, then connect the mouse with the supplied USB cable and update the mouse. Do not disconnect or interrupt the process while it runs.

4. Pair again, then isolate the problem

  1. Run the Razer Mouse Pairing Utility and follow its on-screen instructions for the mouse and compatible dongle.
  2. If pairing still fails, reinstall the mouse drivers, then retry the pairing process.
  3. Test the mouse and dongle on another PC. If it also fails there, contact Razer Support with the model and serial number; Razer directs unresolved dongle issues to Support for warranty validation. Warranty terms depend on region and are not specified here.

If the mouse will not charge

1. Reseat the cable and use a direct port

The DeathAdder V3 Pro charges through USB-C and has no wireless-charging feature. Make sure the cable is fully seated in the mouse, then connect it directly to a PC USB port instead of a hub. For one red-blinking case, a Razer Support response specifically recommended a motherboard port rather than a hub, monitor, or front-panel port.

2. If it blinks red while plugged in

In a Razer Support response dated January 28, 2026, a representative said that, in the reported case, red blinking while plugged in meant the battery was below 5% and not receiving sufficient charge. This is guidance for that reported case, not a guaranteed diagnosis for every mouse.

  1. Hold the power/DPI button for 5–10 seconds to reboot the mouse. The response says a white blink indicates the reboot.
  2. Reconnect the charging cable after the reboot.
  3. Check the USB-C port for debris, then try another cable if the mouse still does not charge.

These steps are based on the Razer Support response on Razer Insider. If another cable resolves the issue, a replacement USB-C cable may be appropriate; the compatibility of specific third-party cable models has not been established here.
