First check what “not showing” means: a pointer that has vanished, one locked at the center of the screen, or one that escapes the Roblox window are different problems. If it is stuck or centered, press Shift once; Roblox lists Shift as the default computer control for toggling mouse lock, but an experience may not support or enable it. If the pointer is truly invisible, use the checks below to narrow down whether the issue is limited to one experience or affects Roblox more broadly.
Identify what the cursor is doing
Before changing settings, note when the problem occurs and how the pointer behaves. A cursor locked to the center is not the same as an invisible pointer, and neither necessarily means the mouse is faulty.
- Locked or stuck at screen center: the experience may be using mouse lock.
- Invisible only while an experience is open: check whether it happens in other experiences before troubleshooting the client.
- Moving outside the Roblox window: the pointer is escaping the game window rather than disappearing.
- Missing outside Roblox too: this points beyond a single experience; check whether the pointer appears elsewhere on the computer.
If the cursor is locked or stuck, try Shift
Press Shift once while in the experience. Roblox lists Shift as the default computer binding for toggling mouse lock in its StarterPlayer documentation. This applies to mouse-lock behavior, not a genuinely invisible pointer. If pressing Shift does nothing, that experience may not support or enable the toggle; it is not a guaranteed universal Roblox setting.
Check whether it happens in one experience or many
Leave the experience and join another. Roblox creator documentation explains that mouse behavior can be controlled by an experience, including through UserInputService. If the cursor issue occurs in only one experience, contact its creator or support channel and describe whether the pointer is invisible, locked, or escaping the window. If it happens across several experiences, continue with client-level checks.

Try general Roblox desktop troubleshooting
Roblox Support’s General Desktop Roblox Issues article addresses broad desktop problems, not a cursor-specific fault. It recommends restarting the computer first. If the broader issue persists, its guidance includes clearing temporary internet files as part of uninstalling and reinstalling Roblox, checking firewall software, and reinstalling the client. These are general troubleshooting steps, not promised cursor fixes.
- Restart the computer. Reopen Roblox and check whether the symptom remains.
- If you continue to troubleshoot the client, follow Roblox Support’s instructions for clearing temporary internet files as part of uninstalling and reinstalling Roblox.
- Check firewall software using Roblox Support’s guidance, then test the client again.
- Reinstall Roblox following the official support instructions if the problem continues.
Close overlays only as a diagnostic check
A Roblox Developer Forum post about mouse lock mentions Xbox Game Bar as a possible factor, but that is an anecdotal report, not a confirmed cause or official fix. If you use an overlay, temporarily close it and test Roblox again. Treat the result as a clue; there is no basis here to remove Windows components or assume the overlay is responsible.
