1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf your YouTube Live broadcast stops when a prerecorded playlist ends, fix the repeat setting in the source feeding OBS—not on YouTube’s watch page. For one file, turn on Loop in an OBS Media Source. For multiple files, turn on Loop Playlist in an OBS VLC Video source. Then check OBS’s output and YouTube’s broadcast settings if the event still ends.
First, identify which playlist is ending
There are two different kinds of looping that can look similar:
- A live broadcast made with OBS: OBS reads your prerecorded media and sends it to YouTube. The repeat setting must be enabled in the OBS source.
- A YouTube playlist watched on the site: YouTube’s viewer-side Loop control repeats playback for the person watching. It does not restart the media source or encoder that is sending a live broadcast.
If you are producing a live stream from local video files, use the OBS instructions below. YouTube Help’s playlist-loop instructions apply to viewer playback.
Make one video repeat in OBS
- In OBS, select the Media Source that contains the video.
- Open its properties.
- Enable Loop, then apply the change.
- Confirm the video starts again after it reaches the end.
OBS describes the Media Source Loop option as replaying the file when playback completes. The source file must remain available to OBS. See the OBS Project’s Media Sources documentation.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Make several videos repeat in OBS
- Add or select a VLC Video source in OBS and open its properties.
- Add the video files to the playlist in the order you want.
- Enable Loop Playlist.
- Leave Shuffle Playlist off if the videos need to play in a fixed order.
- Check that the playlist starts over after the last file finishes.
The VLC Video source requires VLC to be installed. OBS specifies installing 64-bit VLC when using 64-bit OBS. Its documentation describes Loop Playlist as restarting the source after it runs out of media files.
If the YouTube event still ends
Check each link in the broadcast chain separately. A source reaching the end, OBS ceasing to send, and the YouTube event ending are distinct conditions; fixing one does not necessarily fix the others.

- Check the source: Confirm the OBS preview is still showing video and that the source has restarted or is continuing through its playlist.
- Check OBS output: Confirm OBS is still connected and sending to YouTube. If the source plays but the feed is gone, investigate the encoder connection rather than the loop setting.
- Check the YouTube broadcast settings: Review whether the event is configured to end when encoder transmission stops. A secondary troubleshooting guide describes this as a possible reason an ended encoder feed is followed by an ended broadcast; it does not establish that this is the cause in every case or give a verified current delay.
For the last check, see iTechGuides’ troubleshooting walkthrough as a diagnostic lead, not as confirmation of a universal cause.
Which loop control applies?
| What you are doing | Repeat control | Dependency or scope |
|---|---|---|
| Broadcasting one local file through OBS | OBS Media Source: Loop | OBS and the source file must remain available. |
| Broadcasting several local files through OBS | OBS VLC Video: Loop Playlist | VLC must be installed; OBS specifies matching 64-bit VLC for 64-bit OBS. Disable Shuffle Playlist if order matters. |
| Watching a YouTube playlist | YouTube’s viewer-side playlist Loop control | Repeats playback for the viewer; it does not control a live encoder. |
| Playing an embedded YouTube playlist | YouTube IFrame Player API: setLoop(true) |
Controls the embedded player. Google’s API reference says playlist looping is off by default. |
Google’s YouTube IFrame Player API reference says, “The default behavior is that playlists do not loop.” That statement describes playlist playback in the API; it does not describe an OBS source sending video to a live broadcast.

Or let it run in the cloud
If you want the YouTube stream to keep playing without leaving a computer and OBS running at home, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos or playlists from the cloud. The setup is: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube.
