The reliable fix is a short audit: identify the exact item, record several comparable sessions, inspect the client’s counters and restrictions, compare legal alternatives, and stop any route whose net value is lower than its time and access cost.

Why diamond farming can appear to stop paying
The phrase “diamond farming” is ambiguous in current Aion 2 information. Players refer to farming diamond and sapphire materials for selling or crafting, but this does not establish an official drop rate, a guaranteed route, or a profitability average. “Diamond” could instead mean a market item, a gemstone material, or an icon that a player is using to describe currency. Those are different systems with different restrictions.

A falling payout can therefore come from a price change, a reward reduction, a daily or weekly restriction on another currency, higher access costs, unsold inventory, or simple misidentification. Treat each as a separate hypothesis.

Step 1: Confirm the exact item before changing your route
Do this in the client, not from a video title or a chat nickname. Open the inventory entry, read the full item name, and inspect the tooltip for its category, source, bind status, and whether it can be listed. Note whether “diamond” is a material that drops, a reward selected from a chest, or a currency credited directly to the character.
Record the item’s identity
- Exact in-game name, including any tier, quality, or level suffix.
- Where it came from: open-world enemies, a duty, a dungeon, an Abyss activity, gathering, crafting, or a market purchase.
- Whether it is tradable, account-bound, character-bound, or usable only in a recipe.
- Whether the quantity is shown as an inventory stack, a currency balance, or a reward-track value.
- Your region, server, game version, and the date of the observation.
If the tooltip does not use the word “diamond,” stop and resolve the terminology before comparing guides. A route that produces Kina can look profitable when someone describes it informally as diamond farming, but it will not answer a material-supply problem.
Step 2: Measure the route over comparable sessions
One lucky drop or one market listing is not a profitability measurement. Run the same activity under similar conditions and write down the result. Use enough sessions to see whether the first run was an outlier; no verified diamond average is established for you to substitute.
Use a simple session log

Calculate two numbers for each session: diamonds per hour = diamonds obtained ÷ active hours and net value per hour = (realized sale proceeds + other realized proceeds − costs) ÷ active hours. Use the price you actually received, not the highest listing. If nothing sold, record zero realized sale proceeds and keep the unsold stock separate from cash.

Separate production from liquidity
A route can produce many diamonds while paying poorly because buyers have disappeared. Track “quantity obtained” and “quantity sold” as different measures. A full warehouse is not income. If listings remain unsold, test a conservative price and a realistic selling time rather than assuming every unit will clear immediately.
Step 3: Check limits and diminishing rewards in the live client
Current guides describe limits for Kina/Kinah activities, but they do not establish a diamond-material cap. One guide reports an open-world monster Kina limit of about one million per character per day. That is a guide-reported currency limit, not evidence that diamond drops stop after a million Kina or after any particular number of kills.
Dungeon-cube Kina rewards are also reported to have weekly thresholds at which rewards are reduced. No verified universal value is established for every region, patch, or activity. Treat those thresholds as secondary information and verify the current client before planning around them.

What to inspect
- Open the activity, reward, or currency panel associated with the route.
- Look for daily and weekly counters, remaining attempts, reduced-reward notices, or exhausted-reward labels.
- Check whether the counter names Kina/Kinah, dungeon-cube rewards, entries, energy, or another resource. A counter must match the reward you are troubleshooting.
- Record the patch and region shown by your client. A restriction reported for another version may not apply to yours.
- Run a short post-counter test and compare the diamond quantity and net value with a pre-counter session.
If the client shows a Kina reduction but diamond drops remain unchanged, the restriction explains lower currency income only. Do not describe it as a diamond nerf without an item-specific message or repeatable evidence.

Step 4: Compare legal earning routes by the item you actually need
Duties, dungeon rewards, Abyss activities, gathering, crafting, and market sales are general income routes. Their relative value depends on access, time, current prices, and the target item. Compare them only after confirming whether your goal is diamonds, Kina, or both.

For every candidate, use the same formula and the same observation window. A route with a lower raw drop count can be better if it has reliable sales and lower access costs.
Step 5: Diagnose the common reasons profits fall
The market price fell
Compare the current completed-sale price with the price you used when the route was profitable. Do not treat the oldest visible listing as a sale. If the item is no longer moving, reduce your expected value to the price you can realistically realize, or stop producing it until demand returns.
You are measuring listings instead of sales
A high listing price proves only that someone posted an offer. Record the amount that leaves your inventory and the proceeds credited to you. Separate a temporary undercut from a lasting market change by checking several sessions on different days.

A reward counter reduced another income stream
Kina limits and dungeon-cube reductions can make a familiar route look broken even when its diamond output is unchanged. Record each reward type separately. If only Kina falls after a threshold, switch routes for currency while retaining the activity for a confirmed material drop, or stop when the remaining material value does not justify the cost.
The route has hidden time costs
Include travel, queueing, party formation, loading, gathering-node searches, crafting setup, listing, and unsold-inventory management. Ten minutes of unpaid downtime can change the ranking between two routes. Measure active time and total elapsed time separately if waiting is substantial.
Your inputs became more expensive
Crafting and gathering profit can disappear when consumables, recipe inputs, repairs, or entry resources rise in price. Recalculate net value with today’s costs. Do not continue a craft merely because the output price looks high.
The item is bound or demand is narrower than expected
Check the binding flag before farming for sale. If the item can only be used by your character or account, value it by the progression it saves, not by an imagined market price. If it is tradable but rarely purchased, use realized sale time as part of the cost.

A patch or regional difference changed the route
Record the patch, server, and region with every measurement. A guide written for another version may describe a reward table or counter that your client no longer uses. Recheck the tooltip and live reward panel after updates instead of copying old thresholds.

Set a stop rule before the next session. For example, continue only if the route’s measured net value per hour exceeds your best legal alternative and the item sells within a time you accept. If the route produces diamonds but fails that test for several comparable sessions, switch activities rather than chasing a previous peak.
Use a break-even calculation
Write down the minimum acceptable value for your time. Then calculate break-even sale price per diamond = (target hourly value × active hours + all session costs) ÷ diamonds obtained. Compare that price with the current realized sale price. If the required price is above what buyers pay, the route is not currently viable, regardless of its historical reputation.

For crafted goods, include the full input cost and the value of materials you could have sold instead. For dungeon or Abyss runs, include entry resources and the value of time spent waiting. For gathering, include travel and failed node searches.
Choose a response
- Continue: The item is confirmed, sales are reliable, no matching cap has reduced the target reward, and net value remains above your threshold.
- Change route: The target item is available elsewhere with a better measured yield or lower access cost.
- Change product: The activity is worthwhile for another material or reward, but not for diamonds at today’s price.
- Sell existing stock: Production is no longer attractive, but accumulated inventory still has a realistic buyer price.
- Stop temporarily: The item is unsold, bound, capped for the relevant reward, or below break-even across repeat sessions.
Step 7: Stay within Aion 2’s rules
NCSoft’s AION 2 Global policy identifies gold-farming or bot operations, unauthorized programs, and real-money trading as sanctionable behavior. Do not use automation, scripts that play for you, exploits, account trading, or external currency sales to recover a declining return.
- Farm through normal in-game actions only.
- Do not run unattended combat, gathering, market, or loot automation.
- Do not buy or sell in-game currency for real money.
- Do not share or trade accounts to move farming activity between characters or players.
- Keep sales and exchanges inside the game’s permitted systems.
A route that is profitable only through prohibited automation is not a sustainable route. A sanction, rollback, or lost account can outweigh every recorded session’s proceeds.
A repeatable weekly audit
- Write the exact item name, server, region, and patch in your log.
- Run at least several comparable sessions and record quantity, elapsed time, costs, sales, and restrictions.
- Check the live market and use realized prices, not screenshots or anecdotal posts.
- Inspect daily and weekly counters for the reward type you are actually evaluating.
- Test at least one alternative legal activity using the same net-value formula.
- Set a continue, switch, sell, or stop decision based on measured results.
- Repeat after a patch, major market movement, or change in your access costs.
This process addresses the real problem behind “diamond farming that stops paying off”: uncertainty about the item, the reward limit, or the value of the output. It also prevents a Kina-specific cap from being mistaken for proof of a diamond-material mechanic.
