The right fix depends on the exact symptom. For Steam error 1138:100134, NCSOFT’s first step is to run Steam as administrator and try again. If a character disappears after changing the Steam account link, return to the NC Account used to create it. For an NC/PLAYNC account conflict, use NCSOFT’s conflict-recovery process. If login is unavailable during announced maintenance, check current official notices rather than treating an old outage notice as today’s status.

Steam error 1138:100134: run Steam as administrator
NCSOFT’s support page, dated September 23, 2026, recommends running Steam as administrator and trying to launch the game again when this specific error appears. This is a targeted first step, not a fix for every launch failure. NCSOFT AION 2 Global Support’s error guidance.
- Close Steam if it is running.
- Right-click the Steam shortcut and choose Run as administrator.
- Try launching AION 2 again.
If error 1138:100134 remains, submit a customer-service request and include the exact code. NCSOFT notes that the error can have multiple causes; its guidance does not establish administrator mode as a universal solution.
Missing character after unlinking or relinking Steam
AION 2 character and game data are associated with the NC Account in use when the character was created. Linking Steam to a different NC Account does not transfer that character or its data. NCSOFT AION 2 Global Support states this in its account-link FAQ, dated October 1, 2026. Read the official account-link instructions.

Restore the account path you used when creating the character. Follow the FAQ instructions for how you originally accessed the game, rather than repeatedly linking different NC Accounts in the hope that the character will move. If you cannot identify or access the original account, contact official support with the Steam and NC Account details relevant to your case.
NC/PLAYNC account conflict blocks sign-in
NC and PLAYNC are separate account types. Using the same email address for both can lead to an account conflict that blocks access. The NCSOFT AION 2 Global Support FAQ, dated September 15, 2026, directs players to its conflict-check page and, if prompted, to change the email registered to the NC Account. You need the NC Account password to make that change. Use the official account-conflict instructions.

Login unavailable during maintenance
NCSOFT maintenance notices say login may be unavailable while maintenance is in progress. An announcement later confirmed that servers were back online after one maintenance period; that is a historical update, not a live status report. Check the current AION 2 announcements on Steam for notices about ongoing maintenance and service restoration before troubleshooting your account or connection.

The official guidance cited here does not establish a general fix for lag, packet loss, disconnects, or crashes that do not match the named Steam error.
