EC:10000 means the EA app could not authenticate your EA Account. It does not, by itself, mean your account is banned or compromised. Check EA’s service status, try signing in through EA’s website, then clear the app cache if web sign-in works. If the website also rejects your login, focus on account recovery rather than reinstalling the app.
What EC:10000 means
EA classifies EC:10000 as an EA Account authentication issue. Its first checks are a stable internet connection and correct login details. The message “There is a problem with your account” is not proof of a ban, hack, or permanent account damage. EA’s error-code guidance does not identify one universal cause or promise one fix.
Authentication may also be disrupted by an EA service problem, a stale app cache, or local network and security software. Treat those as troubleshooting possibilities, not as confirmed diagnoses.
Try these checks in order
- Check EA service status. Visit EA’s server-status page. If relevant services are unavailable or degraded, wait and try again later; changing local settings will not repair an EA outage.
- Test your account in a browser. Go to EA’s account sign-in page and enter the email associated with the account and the password again, rather than relying on a saved credential. If sign-in fails there too, use EA’s account-access recovery guidance.
- Clear the EA app cache. Use the relevant steps below. You may need to sign in again afterward.
- Restart the EA app and computer. Close the app fully before reopening it. If the error remains, restart the computer and try once more.
- Compare networks. Temporarily connect to another trusted network, such as a phone hotspot. If sign-in works there, investigate the original router, ISP, DNS, or network filtering; the test does not identify which one is responsible.
- Check traffic-intercepting software. For a brief test, disconnect a VPN or proxy and pause applicable DNS filters, parental controls, or antivirus web protection. Re-enable security tools immediately afterward. Do not leave antivirus or firewall protection off.
Clear the EA app cache
EA provides App Recovery rather than requiring command-line deletion or manual removal of folders. Cache clearing can help with stale app state and some app display or download problems, but it cannot repair an account restriction or an EA server outage. See EA’s cache instructions if the menu labels differ on your release.

If the EA app opens
- Select the three horizontal lines in the far-left corner of the app.
- Choose Help, then App recovery.
- Select Clear cache and follow the prompt.
If the app will not open on Windows 10 or Windows 11
- Open the Windows Start menu and select All apps.
- Find and expand the EA folder, then open App Recovery.
- Select Clear Cache in the confirmation window.
On macOS
- Open the EA app.
- From the macOS menu bar at the top of the screen, select Help, then App Recovery.
- Select Clear cache.
Use the result to choose the next step

When to reinstall the EA app
Reinstall only after checking account access, service status, cache, and network. A damaged client installation can cause app problems, but reinstalling will not fix an EA outage, a wrong password, or an account-access restriction. If you do reinstall, download the installer from EA’s official EA app page; avoid third-party installers and repair utilities.
Advanced network changes are not first-line fixes
Changing DNS or disabling IPv6 is not an established universal fix for EC:10000. Try another network first. If you choose to test a network setting, record its original value so you can restore it, and change one thing at a time. Avoid registry edits, unknown scripts, registry cleaners, and deleting arbitrary EA folders; they can create new problems without addressing account authentication.

Contact EA if the error continues
Use EA’s technical issues and reporting options if the account works in a browser but the app still fails after the checks above, or if account recovery does not restore access. Include the exact code, EC:10000, and useful diagnostic details:
- A screenshot of the error with sensitive information redacted.
- Your Windows or macOS version and the EA app version, if displayed.
- Whether the problem affects the whole app or just one game.
- Whether browser sign-in works and whether another network changes the result.
- Whether clearing the cache changed anything.
- The date and approximate time the error occurred, and whether it is constant or intermittent.
Never send a password, two-factor authentication code, recovery code, or full payment-card details in a forum post or support message. Do not pay a third party to recover an account or run an unofficial repair tool.

Do not confuse EC:10000 with other codes
EA lists EC:10005 as a network issue and EC:10500 as an authentication error that may involve an outage or cache. Check the exact code shown rather than applying another code’s diagnosis. See EA’s error-code list for its current distinctions.
