Start by checking Xbox service status, then wait a few minutes and retry. If there is no reported incident, check the console’s internet connection, restart the console and network equipment if practical, and make sure Xbox One system software is up to date. This code alone does not show that your console or another piece of hardware has failed.
1. Check whether Xbox services are having an issue
Open the Xbox Live status page and look for an incident affecting the service you were trying to use. Status can change, so check it when the error occurs. If a relevant incident is listed, wait for service to recover before trying again.

A normal status page does not rule out a problem with your own connection; continue with the checks below if the error remains.
2. Wait briefly, then try again
The error wording reproduced by Master Fixing in a July 2026 video description says: “Try again later. There might be an outage in our online service. Try again in a few minutes, and if you get this error again, check the service status.” That is secondary-source wording, not an official Xbox transcript, but it supports waiting a few minutes and retrying rather than treating the code as proof of a hardware fault.

3. Check the Xbox One’s internet connection
- Confirm that the console is connected to the internet.
- If practical, restart the Xbox One and your router, then reconnect and retry.
- If other online features also fail, note that when you contact support; it may help distinguish a broader connection problem from an issue limited to one game or service.
These are general connectivity checks, not a confirmed error-specific fix.
4. Check for an Xbox One system update
- Press the Xbox button on the controller.
- Open Profile & system > Settings.
- Select System > Updates & downloads > Update console.
- If the console reports that no update is available, Microsoft says it is already up to date.

5. Contact Xbox Support if the code keeps returning
If the status check, retry, connection check, and update check do not resolve the problem, contact Xbox Support. Give them the exact code, what you were trying to launch, whether the status page showed an incident, and whether the problem affects one game or several. That information is more useful than assuming a particular component has failed.
Available information does not establish that 0x87E107DF means a failed hard drive, console, router, or other hardware. Do not buy replacement parts or tools based on this code alone.
