If Everwind multiplayer is lagging on PC, first make sure every player is using the same DirectX version, then test the session with Zapret or similar network-related software temporarily disabled. The developer identifies both as possible connection issues for its peer-to-peer multiplayer, but neither check is guaranteed to fix every lag report.
Try the developer-recommended connection checks first
- Match DirectX versions across the group. The developer says different DirectX versions can cause multiplayer connection issues and advises players to use the same version. Everwind’s Steam listing specifies DirectX 12 as a requirement. See the developer’s known-issues thread and the official Steam listing.
- Test for network-software interference. If anyone in the session uses Zapret or similar network-related software, temporarily disable it and retry the peer-to-peer session, as the developer suggests. Treat this as a test, not a permanent configuration recommendation; restore your usual settings afterward.
Work out whether the problem is network lag or local stuttering
These symptoms can look similar but point to different kinds of trouble. Delayed actions or players appearing to teleport while your view remains smooth suggests a connection-delay complaint. A low frame rate or stutter visible on your own screen is a local performance symptom. This is a practical way to describe what you see, not a published Everwind-specific diagnosis.
Also note whether the host, a joining player, or everyone is affected, and whether it happens in every session or only some. These details help make a support report clearer; the available developer guidance does not establish what any one pattern proves.
What Everwind’s PC requirements do—and do not—tell you
The Steam listing gives these PC requirements and recommendations. It describes the game as Early Access and warns that requirements may change.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.

| Minimum | 64-bit Windows 10/11; Intel Core i5-8400; 12 GB RAM; Intel Arc A580 or Nvidia GTX 1060 with at least 6 GB VRAM; DirectX 12; broadband internet; 5 GB storage. |
| Recommended | Intel Core i7-8700K; 16 GB RAM; Intel Arc B570 or RTX 2060 Super with at least 8 GB VRAM; SSD recommended. |
These are the game’s listed requirements, not a multiplayer-lag diagnosis. The listing does not establish a universal ping target or say that buying an SSD, upgrading a PC, changing a router, or using a VPN will cure peer-to-peer connection problems.
How multiplayer and updates affect troubleshooting
The developer FAQ describes Everwind multiplayer as peer-to-peer and says dedicated-server functionality was planned during Early Access. That statement does not confirm whether dedicated servers are available now or explain their current setup. Check a current developer announcement or the game’s current options before relying on that feature. See the developer FAQ.

The developer has reported work on multiplayer stability and optimization, and a co-op update added a host-controlled tether-distance option described as experimental. Those updates show that multiplayer behavior can change between builds; they do not establish that tether distance fixes general network latency. Check the Everwind update archive for current developer notes.

After the two connection checks, report the issue through current official support channels. Include your game version, whether you are hosting or joining, which players are affected, what the lag looks like, and the results of the DirectX-version and network-software tests. Those details can make the report more useful, but the published sources do not promise a particular fix or provide a complete diagnostic procedure.
