If service appears available, test the console’s connection, then work through Wi-Fi or router checks. The message and full error code matter—different PlayStation network errors can have different fixes.
1. Check the exact error and service status
Write down the complete message and error code as shown on screen. Phrases such as “Unable to connect to the server” and “This service is currently under maintenance” appear in PlayStation’s general error descriptions; they do not, by themselves, identify a Gran Turismo 7-specific fault. Use the PlayStation error-code index to find the entry matching your code.

Check PlayStation Network status and official Gran Turismo service or maintenance notices. Status can change, so check it when the problem occurs. If an outage or maintenance is listed, changing local Wi-Fi settings is unlikely to help; wait for service to return and try again.
2. Test the console’s connection
- On PS5 or PS4, open the console’s Network settings and run its internet connection test. Check whether it connects to the internet and PlayStation Network.
- Close and restart Gran Turismo 7, then restart the console and try again.
- If the screen shows a specific PlayStation error code, follow the support page for that exact code. For example, PlayStation’s NW-102650-4 guidance applies to that error; it is not a universal fix for every GT7 connection problem.
If the console test fails, focus on the console’s network connection. If the test succeeds but only GT7 has trouble, that narrows the symptoms but does not prove the game’s servers are at fault.

3. Choose Ethernet or improve Wi-Fi
Gran Turismo supports both Wi-Fi and wired connections, and recommends a wired connection for a more stable environment. Ethernet is a useful comparison if your console is on Wi-Fi and a cable can reach the router; it is not a remedy for service maintenance or every account or network error.

4. Restart the modem or router and check for updates
- Turn off the modem and router.
- Wait at least five minutes, then turn them back on and retry the connection. PlayStation recommends this interval for the specific PS5 error NW-102650-4.
- Check the router manufacturer’s instructions for a firmware update if the problem continues.
PlayStation also lists advanced options for the cited error, including opening ports, setting a manual static IP, and temporarily changing DNS. These are not GT7-specific port instructions or first steps for everyone. Attempt them only if basic checks have failed, and get guidance from your router vendor or ISP before changing network settings. Avoid jumping to a factory reset or DMZ configuration without a diagnosed need.
5. Check NAT for lobby-specific problems
If the issue mainly affects joining or creating multiplayer lobbies, check the lobby’s Room Settings. Gran Turismo says lobby environment quality depends on players’ NAT type and internet connection quality, and that this information is displayed in Room Settings when creating a room. This makes NAT and connection quality relevant clues for lobby trouble, but Gran Turismo does not establish one NAT type as mandatory for every player. Do not force a particular NAT type or put the console in a DMZ based on a generic connection error.

6. Contact support with useful details
If the error remains, give PlayStation, your ISP, or Gran Turismo support enough information to distinguish a service issue from a local connection problem:
- The exact on-screen message and full error code
- Your console model and whether the console connection test reaches the internet and PSN
- Whether PlayStation Network status and Gran Turismo notices showed an issue when you checked
- Whether you use Wi-Fi or Ethernet
- Which steps you tried and what changed, if anything
For a game-service or maintenance notice, use official Gran Turismo channels; for a PlayStation error code, start with the matching PlayStation support entry.
