Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf Morkvarg won’t talk or In Wolf’s Clothing will not progress, check the exact active objective in your Journal before repeating the encounter. The right next step depends on where that save is stuck: finding Morkvarg, reading his journal, confronting Einar, lifting the curse, or reporting back. There is no single documented fix for every platform and quest state.
Find the exact quest step that is stuck
Open the Journal and read the current objective for In Wolf’s Clothing. The quest has several distinct stages and branches, so identify what the game is asking for rather than assuming the dialogue or encounter should trigger again.
- Ask Josta about Morkvarg.
- Find the garden and locate Morkvarg; investigate the chapter house or flooded cave if that is the active objective.
- Deal with Morkvarg, then learn about the curse from Einar.
- Read Morkvarg’s journal if the Journal directs you to it.
- Resolve the curse using Morkvarg’s flesh or the cursed fang.
- Speak to the priestess and collect the reward if the quest has reached its reporting stage.
Use the objective on your own save as the guide: the order and already-completed stages can differ. The quest walkthrough lists the stages and branches.
If Morkvarg will not talk
First check whether the Journal says to find or deal with Morkvarg, rather than speak with him. If it does, continue that objective; an unavailable conversation does not by itself establish that the quest is broken. If the objective specifically requires a conversation but no dialogue option appears, the available official guidance does not identify a universal dialogue-lock fix. Check for an active related quest before treating the save as irrecoverable: CD PROJEKT RED notes, “During some quests another quest activates which needs to be completed first in order to progress.” See its quest progression support page.

If progress stopped after reading Morkvarg’s journal
Check that the game is updated, then consider loading a save from before the objective stopped advancing. Patch 1.07 documented a progression issue after reading Morkvarg’s journal, so this is a known historical failure point. The patch note does not establish that every current stall at this step has the same cause or that reloading will fix every affected save. See the 1.07 patch notes.
If you cannot kill Morkvarg in New Game+
A later patch changelog records an issue that could make killing Morkvarg impossible in New Game+. This applies specifically to that symptom and mode; it is not a general explanation for missing dialogue or other quest stalls. Check the patch changelog for the documented issue.

Choose a curse route only when that is the active objective
The two curse resolutions are story choices, not technical repairs for a broken interaction. Einar’s account connects the cursed fang to the curse.
| Choice | Outcome |
|---|---|
| Feed Morkvarg flesh from his own body | Morkvarg dies as a werewolf. |
| Use the cursed fang | The curse is lifted and Morkvarg returns to human form. |
Choose the route that fits your intended outcome once the quest asks you to resolve the curse; do not treat either choice as a substitute for an objective that has failed to update. The quest walkthrough describes the branches.

If the quest is complete but still active in the Journal
Distinguish a stale Journal entry from blocked progression. Patch 1.10 documented a fix for In Wolf’s Clothing remaining active in the Journal after all objectives were complete. A community reference also notes that the priestesses objective can remain displayed without preventing completion. Check whether the actual objectives and reward are complete before replaying a substantial section. See the 1.10 patch notes and the community quest reference.
