Android users can also clear the game’s cache. Reinstall MLBB only after confirming that the account is linked and recoverable—uninstalling or clearing app data can remove guest progress.
First, identify what is actually failing
“Crashing” can describe several different problems. The correct fix depends on when the failure occurs:

If the app stays open but cannot authenticate, download resources, or enter matchmaking, troubleshoot the connection before treating it as a local crash.
Protect your MLBB account before resetting anything
Do not uninstall MLBB or clear its data while using only a guest account. Apple warns that deleting an app may remove data stored in it, and Google warns that uninstalling an app erases app data. A linked account may be recoverable, but local settings, unfinished downloads, and guest progress are not guaranteed to return.

If the game still opens, use its account or profile area to:
- Confirm that the account is linked to an available sign-in method.
- Record your Game ID, Server ID, nickname, region, and linked login method.
- Save screenshots of purchase receipts or transaction history if the account contains paid items.
Quick fixes for iPhone, iPad, and Android
1. Force-close Mobile Legends
iPhone or iPad: Open the App Switcher, find MLBB, and swipe up on its preview. Then open the game again. Apple documents this as the standard way to close an unresponsive app (Apple’s App Switcher guide).
Android: Open Settings → Apps (also called App management or Application Manager), select Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, tap Force stop, and reopen it. Menu names vary by manufacturer.
2. Restart the device
Perform a full restart rather than simply locking and unlocking the screen. This clears temporary memory and ends background processes that may be competing with MLBB. Apple and Google both place restarting near the beginning of their app-troubleshooting guidance (Apple support; Google Play Help).

3. Update MLBB and the operating system
On iPhone or iPad, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, and check App Updates. Then open Settings → General → Software Update.
On Android, open the Google Play Store, tap the profile icon, choose Manage apps & device, and install any MLBB update. Then check Settings → System → Software update, or the equivalent menu supplied by your phone maker.
Do not assume a particular MLBB version is defective without a dated official notice. If the crashes began immediately after an update, record the versions and report the reproducible problem to the developer.

- Free storage before installing an update or downloading game resources.
- Close demanding apps running in the background.
- Temporarily disable floating chat heads, screen recorders, overlays, and third-party game boosters.
- Let the phone cool before launching MLBB, especially if it is hot from charging or extended play.
- Temporarily relax aggressive battery-saving or background-management restrictions for MLBB.
These steps reduce memory and thermal pressure; they are practical diagnostics, not guaranteed cures.

Android-specific fixes
Clear the MLBB cache
- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps, App management, or the equivalent option.
- Select Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
- Open Storage or Storage & cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
- Restart the phone and test MLBB.
Clearing the cache removes temporary files. It does not repair every broken update, unsupported device, account problem, or server issue.
Do not confuse cache with storage or data
Clear cache is the safer first choice. Clear storage or Clear data resets local app data and may require you to sign in again. Use it only after verifying account access and recording your Game ID and Server ID. Even a linked account may not restore every local setting or incomplete download.
Check Android compatibility and modified software
Requirements can vary by regional app edition and change over time. Use the official Google Play listing available in your country rather than relying on universal RAM, chipset, or Android-version claims. Rooted or otherwise modified devices may create compatibility or support problems, although that does not mean every modified device will crash.

After force-closing, restarting, and updating, check Settings → General → iPhone/iPad Storage and make sure there is enough free space for the app and its resource downloads. Avoid launching MLBB while the device is overheating.

If the problem continues, Apple’s next general remedy is to delete and redownload the app. Complete the account-protection checklist first. The U.S. App Store listing for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.US currently states iOS 12.0 or later, but that requirement applies to that listing and should not automatically be treated as the requirement for every regional MLBB edition (U.S. App Store listing).
What to do when MLBB crashes only during matches
- Restart the phone and close other demanding apps.
- Let the device cool down.
- Disable overlays, screen recording, floating windows, and similar utilities.
- Inside MLBB, lower graphics quality, frame rate, shadows, and effects if those controls are available.
- Temporarily disable aggressive battery-saving restrictions.
- Test a short match and note the exact mode, map, duration, and device temperature.
Lower graphics settings are a mitigation for heat and memory pressure, not proof that graphics settings are the cause.

When MLBB stays open but fails around login, resource downloads, or matchmaking, try:
- Switching from Wi-Fi to cellular data, or the reverse.
- Restarting the router if other devices also have connection trouble.
- Temporarily disabling a VPN or third-party security filter.
- Enabling automatic date, time, and time zone.
- Trying a different network.
A network change will not repair a genuine rendering crash, but it can resolve loading, authentication, and session failures. If many players report the same issue, check MLBB’s official channels for maintenance or update notices. Do not call it an outage based only on unverified community reports.

Reinstall MLBB safely
Reinstalling is appropriate when the installation or downloaded resources may be damaged, but it should be a later step.
iPhone or iPad
- Confirm the account is linked and recovery details are recorded.
- Delete MLBB.
- Restart the device.
- Reinstall it from the official App Store listing for your region.
- Sign in using the same account method.
- Allow all resource downloads to finish before testing a match.
Android
- Confirm the account is linked.
- Uninstall MLBB from Settings → Apps or from Google Play.
- Restart the phone.
- Reinstall it from the official Google Play listing.
- Sign in with the correct account.
Regional editions matter. The U.S. store ecosystem includes separate MLBB listings, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.US. Verify the app name, publisher, region, and any migration instructions before deleting an existing installation. Use the official listing available in your country; do not install a random APK or an unrelated clone (standard Google Play listing; MLBB.US listing).
If an update caused the crashes
Write down the MLBB version, iOS/iPadOS or Android version, device model, country or region, and the exact point of failure. Note whether other apps crash and whether the problem started immediately after an MLBB or system update.

If the same failure affects multiple players or devices after an update, it may require a developer patch. Avoid repeatedly reinstalling or factory-resetting the phone. Preserve your account details, check official notices, and send support a reproducible report.
When to contact MLBB support
Escalate when the crash remains after the relevant steps above, occurs consistently, or began after an update. Where available, use MLBB’s in-game Contact Us function. The support route and contact details can differ between the global and U.S. editions, so use the channel shown for your installed official listing (Google Play listing and support details).
