If you chose to expel her, the required sequence is to buy a Bundle of Burdock, put it in the haunted house’s oven, and cast Igni. If your objective is still stuck after the relevant steps, check for a related quest blocking progress, try an earlier save, and contact CD PROJEKT RED with your save and platform details.
Check which Novigrad Dreaming objective is stuck
The right fix depends on where you are in the quest. Investigate the haunted house, including the attic, then resolve the haunting by either dealing with Sarah or expelling her. These are different story choices, and only the expulsion route requires the burdock-and-oven interaction.

After the house sequence, the walkthrough describes Corinne’s later dream report at the Golden Sturgeon as the next information beat. If you have finished the haunting but are waiting for the quest to advance, check the journal and make sure you have reached the appropriate next step.
“Get some burdock”: the merchant seems to have none
If your objective says “Get some burdock” but the herbalist appears not to sell any, check the other side of the building before assuming the quest is locked. A player reporting the same problem later realized the merchant was on the other side. This is a community-reported location mix-up, not an official fix or a guarantee that every empty stock issue has the same cause. Player report about the burdock merchant

“Need to get into the attic”: inspect the house before choosing
If you are still exploring, search the house and attic for the quest’s investigation steps before treating the next objective as a bug. The route choice comes after this investigation: Sarah can be dealt with, or Geralt can drive her out. If the quest journal still will not advance
CD PROJEKT RED’s technical-support article advises players unable to progress in a side quest or the main story to try its troubleshooting steps. Its general quest advice is not a Novigrad Dreaming-specific diagnosis, but it gives a sensible escalation path:

- Check your journal for a related quest that must be completed first.
- Verify the game cache using the process applicable to your platform or launcher.
- Load a save made before the issue occurred and see whether the quest can proceed.

If a ladder drops Geralt after one step
One player reporting this ladder problem said jumping onto the ladder helped. Treat that as a low-confidence workaround, not a confirmed or universal solution; if it fails, return to an earlier save and use the support steps above. Patch 1.10 addressed a conversation crash
The English Patch 1.10 changelog records a fix for a crash during a conversation with the haunted-house owner in Novigrad Dreaming. This is a legacy, quest-specific crash fix; the changelog does not say it fixed missing burdock stock, the ladder issue, or every form of blocked quest progression. English Patch 1.10 changelog

Recent Remastered notes do not list a quest-specific remedy
CD PROJEKT RED says The Witcher 3 Remastered released on September 29, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, with free upgrades for existing owners within the same platform ecosystem. CD PROJEKT RED Remastered announcement
The October 1, 2026 PC 5.00c notes list save/load, audio, visual, telemetry, achievement, and Classic-version fixes; the October 1 5.00b notes cover DLSS, lighting, and parity adjustments. Neither lists a Novigrad Dreaming fix. That means those notes do not establish a current quest-specific Remastered remedy; it does not prove that no platform-specific issue exists.
