The official LEGO PlayStation set is model 72306, a 1,911-piece, adult-oriented display build recreating the original console and its first controller. LEGO announced a general release for October 4, 2026, at a recommended US price of $179.99. The “definitely going to sell out” prediction is not supported by published demand or inventory data, so check a retailer directly for current availability.
What is the LEGO PlayStation set?
Set 72306 is an officially licensed LEGO model of the original PlayStation, designed for builders aged 18 and older. LEGO describes it as near 1:1 scale; the listed dimensions are over 6 cm high, 26 cm wide and 19 cm deep. It is a brick-built display model, not a working game console.
The 1,911-piece set includes the console and a controller that plugs into it. The console has functional Open and Power buttons. Two removable, hidden display dioramas reference Gran Turismo and Ape Escape. LEGO’s product details and dimensions are on its official product page.

LEGO announced Insiders early access from October 1, 2026, followed by general purchase from October 4 at LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and select retailers. These are launch arrangements, not confirmation of stock today. See the LEGO announcement and the PlayStation Blog announcement for their regional details.
Will the LEGO PS1 set sell out?
There is no published demand statistic or sellout probability in the cited announcements. A high piece count, a launch date or the set’s nostalgic appeal cannot establish that it will sell out. TechRadar’s October 1, 2026 launch-week roundup described retailer options and availability at that time, but that dated snapshot does not prove current inventory. Check LEGO or a retailer’s listing for live stock before making a trip or purchase.

Where can you buy it?
LEGO’s announced sales routes are LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and select retailers. PlayStation Direct was also named for the launch in the countries listed above. Because availability can change by retailer and region, confirm that the seller lists set 72306 and has it in stock; launch-week retailer reports are not a current stock check.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is it worth considering?
The set is most relevant to adult PlayStation fans who want a display piece and enjoy building LEGO. Before buying, consider whether the 26 cm-wide model fits your display space, whether you value the plug-in controller and functional buttons, and whether the removable game-inspired dioramas add enough appeal for the regional recommended price. It is not a substitute for a playable console.
