First find out where the podcast audio disappears: at its source, inside OBS, or after OBS sends the stream to YouTube. Watch the OBS audio meter and make a short local recording before changing network settings. An OBS dropped-frame warning points to a connection or bitrate problem; it does not, by itself, show that OBS has stopped capturing audio—or prove Airtel is at fault.
Locate where the audio drops
During a test, compare three signals: the OBS mixer meter, a local OBS recording, and YouTube’s live preview or stream-health indications. Check them over the same time window. This separates an audio capture or routing fault from a streaming connection or YouTube-side problem.
- The OBS meter stops or stays quiet: investigate the audio source, device, level, or routing first.
- The meter moves, but the local recording is silent or cuts out: check OBS’s selected sources and audio routing.
- The meter and local recording sound normal, but YouTube is silent or interrupted: check OBS’s network status and YouTube’s stream health.
“Dropping” can mean silence, intermittent cutouts, desynchronization, or audio missing only from YouTube. Identify which describes the problem before changing settings.
Check the podcast signal before changing the network
Listen at the source and in OBS
- Play the podcast source and watch the corresponding channel in OBS’s Audio Mixer.
- Listen at the playback device or audio equipment, then use OBS Audio Monitoring to listen again after the signal reaches OBS. OBS recommends checking the signal as early as possible and again after it reaches the mixer. See the OBS Audio Mixer Guide.
- Check physical gain and level controls on any microphone, interface, mixer, or playback device in the signal path. Also check relevant operating-system and application volume controls.
- Record a representative segment in OBS and listen to it before going live. If the recording cuts out, the problem is already present before YouTube playback.
Verify the selected source and routing
Confirm that the intended audio input is selected, active, and included in the scene or global audio setup you are streaming. The exact device path differs by operating system. If you added an Audio Input Capture or Audio Output Capture source for a device that is also selected under Settings → Audio, OBS warns that capturing it twice can cause echo. Disable the duplicate route if you are using a scene-level capture source. Consult OBS Audio Sources for source types and routing details.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use OBS network status to test the Airtel connection
If the OBS mixer and local recording remain clean while the YouTube output breaks up, check OBS’s network status and inspect its log for the matching time window. OBS defines dropped frames as a connection to the remote server that is unstable or unable to sustain the configured bitrate. That indicator concerns stream delivery; it does not identify an audio-input failure. Follow the official OBS Stream Connection Troubleshooting guidance.
- Test with a wired connection if you are on Wi-Fi. A wired connection can help determine whether Wi-Fi instability is involved; it is a diagnostic step, not a guaranteed audio fix.
- Reduce the video bitrate cautiously. Test a lower setting that your connection can sustain consistently. OBS gives 75% of total upload as a starting point, not a universal safe value: shared household use, service conditions, and connection variability can affect what is sustainable.
- Check the router, modem, and other network hardware. Retest while watching OBS’s network status rather than relying on a single speed-test result or advertised plan speed.
- Keep a record of the test. Note the time, OBS log, upload-test result, whether the connection was wired, bitrate, and YouTube stream-health state.
A speed test or plan speed alone does not show whether the route to YouTube’s ingest server will remain stable during a live stream. A lower bitrate, wired test, or hardware check may help isolate the issue, but none guarantees that missing audio will return.

Check YouTube’s ingest and live preview
YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate, testing with representative audio and motion before an event, and monitoring stream health while live. It recommends RTMPS for YouTube Live. Compare the OBS mixer and local recording with YouTube’s preview and health indications to see whether the signal is lost before or after OBS sends it. Use YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance for the current configuration recommendations.
When to contact Airtel
Escalate to Airtel if network drops persist during a wired test at a conservative bitrate and the audio source and local OBS recording remain stable. Share the test times, OBS log, upload-test results, and YouTube stream-health observations. OBS notes that ISP-side changes or route congestion may be outside a streamer’s control. The available evidence does not establish an Airtel-specific defect, plan limitation, outage, or setting, so treat Airtel as a connection to test—not a confirmed cause.

Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep pre-recorded video live on YouTube without leaving a home computer running, StreamNeo is a different option from troubleshooting an OBS podcast feed. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud. It does not stream from a camera or to platforms other than YouTube.
